It looks like HQ will let go of my colleague that I really really hate to create the budget for my expat assignment
BUT the problem is someone else needs to absorb the work. I told my boss I cannot possibly absorb it so I can use that to justify if I don't wanna go to HQ anymore. I really DO NOT want to stay in HQ for 2 years
12-18 months would be just right for me. I realized I cannot be away from my family for such a long time. Family is more important than career (although my Mom says it would do me good to live independently)

November 30th, 2015 07:22 AM #123Dami nag slim down na companies sa US ngayon. People are forced to pick up work and be more multi-faceted in order to be more competitive and keep their jobs. Roles are getting merged

It is worth to work abroad if you are going to Europe and Western Country. If you are going to middle east then think twice...we don't have freedom here.

Cath just my 2 cents, 24 months isn't drastically longer than 18 months. More than the money, think about the experience and the learning you'll get from your short stint abroad.
You've got fairly wealthy parents who can visit you if you ever feel homesick (or sponsor your trip home for Christmas if you prefer). As far as I know, neither of them are critically or chronically ill, so you've got a fair bit of time on your hands (and again, you're one flight away).
Don't worry, she's off to one of the wealthiest and most progressive nations in the EU, to work for its biggest bank. I think freedom isn't a major concern. [emoji5]
