I've been in the real estate for 9 years. Handling int'l accounts. Yung 8 yrs sa office bilang acct officer to supervisor then itong 2013 natransfer ako sa sales which lasted 8 mos. Now i was offered "early retirement" so tinanggap ko dahil redundant na ung post ko and may inoffer naman silang payoff.

I applied for a credit and collection supervisor sa isang small real estate firm and the interview and background check went smoothly. Job offer ko na mamayang 4pm. If they could not match my current salary, how do i politely negotiate?

Reason i want them to match my current or even surpass it is problematic ung post na inapplyan ko. Wala na ung papalitan ko so there will be no proper turnover. Malaki at marami akong aayusin which i know i can handle given my experience (madalas din kc yung ganyan scenario sa previous company ko)

Problem is during the interview i stupidly said sa finance head na im willing to consider na tapatan kahit yung basic ko lang sa previous.

sa akin, nothing works like pure openness and honesty.
mahirap pag natanggap ka pero unsatisfied ka sa sweldo mo.
just do it politely and professionally.

^ agree. sabihin mo din yang explanation mo dito. that should be enough to justify yung hinihingi mo. if not, i guess you'll be better off sa ibang company.

taxable yata ang retirement pay unless service is at least 10 yrs at at least 50 yrs old ang employee, not sure though. iba yata kapag separation pay sa lay off.

That is true bro... Next job mo,- wala ka nang retirement.

Pero, "early retirement" nga ba, ha TS? O, reduction in force (RIF)?

Dapat pag ganyan(early retirement), at least 50yo ka na yata,- o depende sa company policy.....

i have retired once.... taxable yung nakuha ko.
pero may mga companies na pinapalabas nila na as per cvt is rif or redundancy. dun pwedeng non-taxable.

Kung ang ibigay sayo ay same salary ikaw pa din ang mag decide if you would accept it, normaly probation ka 3 months, if you feel kulang ung salary then dont sign the extension or regular employment. Mahirap na kasi humirit pag nagkaroon na kayo ng nego sa salary.

Actually, it should have been better kung nagsabi ka ng expected salary mo during the interview para may idea sila.

Anyway, just be honest and professional. Kung nalilitan ka sa ibibigay syo, tell them na di sapat for your needs. If there's a chance na alam mo ang current salary range ng inaapplyan mo at that certain years of experience, much better kasi macocompare mo yun.

    Good luck TS.

Be open about it sir, isa satrabaho ng HR Manager from the start is to determine also if their offer is reasonable sa skills and experience ng applicant.

I've talked to other people na nagka experience na nag negotiate ng pay na mas mababa sa previous and around 75% of them hindi rin tumagal and lumipat ng ibang company. Nasa discussion period pa naman kayo eh kaya better to let them know. Gastos din sa company ang hindi tumatagal na employee sa budget ng sourcing kaya dapat when they hire you kung sakali at least magtatagal ka

Stickers, before negotiating for a substantial increase make sure that you have a fall back in case the company decides to interview another candidate who would be happy with the expected salary they are offering.

Wtf, sorry september pa pala ito hehehe

just state your expected salary (min to max) after you have gone thru to all interviews.

dapat sa simula pa lang sabihin na yung expected salary para hindi waste of time both nang nag a apply at nang employer.. kung alam na nang employer yung expected salary at kung kaya naman nya ibigay di shoot.. mahirap kasi yung ibang employer.. haba haba nang process.. tapos pagdating nang offer babaratin lang.. sayang lang oras..

If I want to negotiate offers, I always make a side by side comparison of salary and benefits in a spread sheet from current to the one being offered and email it to them so they could see why I am negotiating for the amount that I want.

Just remember that there is always someone else out there willing take the job at a lower rate
