A lot of doctors I know have migrated to either Europe or North America to become nurses. Almost of them are graduates if known and respected medical schools. They had a good practice here, but apparently it is not good as becoming a nurse in the U.S., Canada or the UK. As my cousin, who is a doctor but became a nurse in the US, told me before he left: "It's all about the money, baby". Factor in economical stability and the probability of good schools, the temptation would really be hard to resist.

its a matter of choice talaga sa pagharap natin sa buhay buhay...

kung pipiliin dito mabuhay sa pinas, you'll sacrifice your chances of making it big abroad... pero kung may abilidad ka para umasenso dito its good///

sa mga nandito sa Pinas at patuloy na nakikipagsapalaran sa buhay... saludo din po ako sa inyo... maybe some of you guys are already qualified to migrate, pero andito pa din kayo... taking chances... and YES we are all taing chances here... ang buhay eh very risky... kung ano ang decisions mo ngayon, for sure it will affect your future.

for me kasi... hanggat may chances ako nakikita dito sa pinas para umasenso... i will still stay here. i still love what i am doing... di man kumikita ng malaki, kahit paano nakakasave din kahit konti. nasa akin na lang siguro kung kailan ko sasabihin sa sarili ko na wala na akong pagasa dito sa pinas.

this is a very nice topic indeed... basta in every decisions we make... tayo tayo na lang nakakaalam nuon... no one has the rights to tell us na mali decision natin... maging maganda man o pangit kalalabasan nito... we should always be proud dahal nagRISK tayo to take those chances...

how i wish dumating ang time na matauhan na ang nasa gobyerno... at maging maayos na ulit ang takbo ng Pinakamamahal nating Pilipinas

gaya ng nasabi ko,,, its a matter of choice, it is my choice to stay here muna... madami akong ayaw iwanan... im also an ECE and currently doing IT related stuff, we have more than 20 websites to manage including Tsikot, mawawalan ako ng oras to manage this sites pag andyan na ako sa US... this is my passion... dito ako masaya... i am still earning a living... mataas din pangarap ko pero mas matimbang pa din sakin ang magstay dito sa pilipinas.

Nars din po ako dito sa NY ,before I came here I'd been applying even for a volunteer service but with no luck. I guess this Dr Jacinto is really talented guy. Now, how he can take an order form one stupid nurse supervisor? I read an article here in a filipino reporter in NY regarding 2 filipino nurse-doctor who was deported because they are not doing their job as a nurse bagkus nagbibigay sila ng opinion as a doctor...Well it's not all about money...
and it's really pathetic. The government should do something about it. Dapat iretain nila yong mga magagaling at all cost!!!! Like my friend here who was a UP grad ( economics) cum laude pati, and I was like , what are you doing here? Dapat kinuha sya ng government as one of their " thinker" you know what i mean...

One of the biggest chunks of our reserves comes from the dollar remittances of OFW's, for some people they may be doing "dirty jobs" abroad but the cold reality is that they are the people keeping our economy alive with their remitances. yung inflow ng dollars nila is comparable already sa mga foreign direct investment dito. Some people think madali lang buhay abroad, but in some cases it even worse, but its the pay that makes it bearable, atleast buhay pamilya mo.

I worked as an OFW for four years and earned 4 to 5 times of what you can get here. I already have a working Visa sa US wayback on 2000 but I did not grab it. And already working locally for 4 years.

Kaya lang kapag nasa labas ka na, minsan mag-iisip ka why is this country ang nakikinabang ng galing mo and why not rather do it for your own country. Some OFW are successful financially pero kung mapabayaan mo naman pamilya mo, I rather have a simple life.

Sabi nila, they go abroad because this country is hopeless, who else will? There still no place like home.

Nice read!!!

    reason for being a U.S. citizen ?

well I could think of one, being a permanent resident you can't work for the federal government, unless you acquire US citizenship first.

why work for the gov? simple better benefits and retirement is secured coz of state pension. (tho you should still invest in IRA's, mutual funds and real estate). plus when worse comes to worst citizen ka ng US hindi permanent resident walang reason na patalsikin ka.

when the time comes I will apply for a citizenship, no regrets, all my bros are already here no reason for me to stay in the Phil (what for?).

Almost 3 yrs. na kmi dito sa NZ with my family at so far no regrets nman.
    1)15Tpesos/mo.compared to 120-150T/mo.
2)80 mil.Phil.population compared to 4mil.NZ pop.(less people means less patients
    3)clean air and beautiful scenery
    4)nuclear free
5)nice weather!(alang pawis at libag he he)
6)cost of living is proportion to income
7)almost 0 crime rate (usually petty crimes by teen-agers)
8)provide my daughter a safe and beautiful environment to live in
But I still want to spend my retirement years back home, no place like home!

Unless the government can finally say it is safe to live in the Philippines, then thats the time I'm coming home to live in PI!Its one thing when its difficult to earn money, but in my town in DAVAO, peace and order is another thing.

If you really think about it, if peace and order is not maintained, economic aspect will always be difficult. That's why, even though doctors have enough income in the Philippines, they still opt to move out of the country to finally live a peaceful, new life which is away from all the misery. To work somewherelse where compensation is tenfold and work with great pride and respect that sees great dignity of human life for a pursuit of ultimate happiness while we still can!
