My wife and her siblings had CAP. But they never get a chance to use it coz they all migrated sa US before they even went to high school sa Pinas. The good thing about CAP: It is TRANSFERABLE. Her younger cousins and relatives was able to use all of them. In anyway, no $$ was wasted.
BTW, my wife is about 26 y/o now. Her parents bought the policy when she was 2 years old. So I guess that is a sign of good financial stability of a company, IMO. Good Luck

pero i think may konting financial problem ang CAP bago lang... dunno if naresolve na yan. better check muna. ako may CAP plan ako.. and binabayaran nila lahat upto the last centavo tlaga.. ndi pinipili. then medyo mahal pa naman tuiton ko so un 30+ plus na ininvest ng parents ko before... tlagang sulit sobra..
Prinsipe,
Let me know what you've come up with. I am thinking of helping out some of my sister's kids by buying them this policy. I guess pays in terms of long term goal.
yup mid 90s yata nagka problem ang CAP, kasi onr of the classmate (under CAP plans) sa college was not able to take his final exam because of the CAP issues,
You may want to check out the link above for the performance of our preneed companies. Under the education sub group, CAP leads in the number of plans but Prudentialife Plans has a larger sales amount.
Btw, education plans is being sold by preneed companies, not by insurance companies. Simply put, in insurance, you need to pass away before your beneficiaries get something. While for preneed, you are just like saving / investing your money.
mazdamazda, email kita mamya. bagal ng internet namin ngayon e. di ako maka log in sa hotmail at yahoo. is it possible for you to mail me proposal for 300k and 500k educationla plan? kung pwede lang naman...hehehe...eto email add ko - prinsipe*hotmail.com
thanks din sa lesson about preneed and insurance companies.

sana nga happy_gilmore! :D
prinsipe, assume ko na 0 years old ang baby mo ha?
ganun na ba kamahal ngaun?? heheh i mean basta mahal na ba sobra?? kasi ang alam ko kinunan ako ng parents ko before uhhmm i was 8 years old nun (1990).. 30K++ lang ang binayaran, exclusive schools package na ata un. tas naavail ko un educ plan 1999 - 2003 kasi gud for 8 terms/semester un eh. pero now ba aabot na ng mga 100K un mga educ plans?? hehehe CAP pala un akin ha.. un kasi ang sikat eversince
discontinued na yung scheme na "the company will pay for the tuition, regardless how much". CAP is the last one to offer it pero sobrang mahal. SEC na rin mismo ang nagpatigil at na foresee nila na unpredictable and change in tuition fees, kaya baka malugi ang mga preneed companies.
so ngayon, fixed cash benefit na ang computation. maganda lang is kahit hindi mag college ang scholar, kuha pa rin ang cash.
last i heard, naka utang ng 2B ung CAP..so technically they're not it financial trouble...yet
This is medyo in the remote future pa, but La Salle has been offering DLSU bonds at maturity of which pwede mo sya iredeem as a 4 yr college course. The catch is, dapat pumasa ung bond holder sa entrance exams.
i'm sure i'm missing out on a lot of details, so check it out with them B).
Considering how tuition fees are going, it looks quite interesting d ba?
.. o baka naman me lahi kayong taga Mensa, kaya't kayang-kaya maging scholar ng baby mo B).
yup repackaged life paln ata yun kasi may kasamang life insurance e.
mazdamazda,
badkuk... MAHAL yun package ng lasalle hehee around 500T ++(not sure sa figure) basta ganun sya although payable in terms. pero d sya flexible ata kasi dpat sa DLSU SYSTEM member schools ka lang mag aaral. the last time i heard kasi is ganito sya. ewan ko nga natuloy ba...
liquid pa, pwede mo sell pag nangailangan ka pera for emergencies.
