Someone called me late this afternoon, around 5PM, he said that I'm entitled to recieve a priviledge card and get discounts from over 1,000 establishments nationwide reserved for citibank card holders... blah blah. He asked me if I was a Citibank credit card holder, I said yes, then he then proceeded on asking some details, he first asked for the expiration date, I oblidged and gave him the expiration date, then he asked for the credit card #, again I oblidged (stupid me, I was already tired and had some chores to do and wanted to get over this caller), then he asked for the 3 digit code at the back of the card, mmm... somethings not right, then I told him that I can't give him that info, ok then again he asks for my address for the card delivery, again I told him that I can't divuldge that info. Mmmm... Now that got me thinking, will he be able to use my card with the expiration and credit card #? Geez... Kanina pa ako icip ng icip, I'm calling citibank tomorrow regarding this. Only used the card once, am thinking of temporarily disabling it.

have your bank cancel your card immediately. the info you gave is good enough to process a transaction.

Ok, just got off the phone with a citibank call center rep, they told me that the they won't be able to use my card online without the 3 digit number at the back. I told them to suspend the card, 24 hours lang, pag may replacement bayad 400 bucks. Also checked my statement, di naman nagamit ako pa lang hehehe. Tagal ng bill ko sa citibank, malapit na deadline la pa bill.

Like Box said - they can still use your credit card on SOME online sites even without the 3 numbers. So, better ask Citibank to cancel your card.

Why would they ask you to pay money for a replacement? They suck!

    Name, Card Number, Expiration Date

ito lang ang basic na kailangan and magagamit na ang card mo sa mga online stores.

kaya nakakatako magbigay ng mga info na ganito...

Actually they could be legit, but the method they sell their service is like a con. They ask you those details, then they get the approval... just like that you already paid for the service without saying yes...

nangyari na sa akin yan. ayun...nung dumating ang billing may mga online transactions worth 5k. nung pina-reverse ko sa citibank, ni-reverse naman nila but on the next billing, meron na namang online transactions worth 6k. pina-cancel ko yung card and i've requested for a new one. ok na sya ngayon.

lesson learned: do not give out CC infos via the net or via phone.

they get out info from NSO, from the telcos and other public related services, tapos shi-ne share yan.

sa insurance business (where i belong to), we also share out information (like medical history databases ng lahat ng applicants), bank clients where out bancassurance department is affiliated to and sister companies.

IMHO, you should consider your options, 24 hrs is not enough. they may use it in some other time. what you gave them is gud enough to buy anything online.

Andaming ganyang CC scam talaga. people like that call all the time dito sa Office. Nagtataka na nga ako on how they get my contact nos...

ingat na lang ILD and have your Credit Card Company monitor the purchasing pattern of your card.

there are even groups of peole in the philippines who are sharing different credit card info, local CCs or international cards.

thats the reason why na philippines is banned from paypal... dahil sa dami ng frauds.

    kaya ingat lang mga pre...

sa mga restaurants, when you're paying using your card, dont just give your card to the waiter, ikaw na mismo lumapit sa cashier to pay, or just pay in cash... kasi di natin alam kung yung waiter eh may alam sa mga ganitong activity.

sa mga online stores, mga **** sites with membership access, ingat din, kasi minsan these sites are asking to enter your CC info to verify if you are above 18, maraming nagkalat dyan para magfetch lang nga mga vital info.

sa kahit sinong tatawag sa mga bahay nyo, dont give any info agad. if they are form the CC company, your name is enough naman siguro, coz im sure may record sila nyan.

Could this be another Credit Card Scam?
