    2nd San Mateo 4x4 Race

    Venue: Brgy. Sta Ana, San Mateo Rizal (At the back of the Cockpit Arena)
    Registration fee: Php.1000.00 for Novice class
    Php.1500.00 for Open class

    Driver classification:

    A Novice driver is one who has not competed in any open class 4x4 race organized by any organization whether he/she is able to finish the race or did not finish it.

    Anybody may compete in the open class race whether he/she is a beginner or had previously raced in any open class race.

    Vehicle:

    Any 4x4 regardless of engine displacement (4, 6 or 8 cylinder), stock or modifed, using any size of tires except tractor tires maybe used by the driver whether a Novice or an Open class driver.

    Only one (1) vehicle maybe used by the driver whether a novice or an open class driver. No substitution of vehicle is allowed. A driver whose vehicle breaks down may repair it to enable him to run for the next race if he has to run again.

    Roll cage and a four (4) point seatbelt are required for open type vehicle. If the driver is using a closed type vehicle, the use of a roll cage is not necessary but the vehicle must have a seatbelt even if it is not a four (4) point type.

    Team composition:

    A driver, whether a novice or an open class driver, may have a crew of only two (2) who may act as a co-driver/navigator or a spotter.

    Recovery maybe self recovery or with the assistance of another vehicle.

    In case of recovery, only one (1) recovery vehicle is permitted. Only the person driving the recovery vehicle is allowed in said vehicle. The other task necessary to recover a stalled vehicle must be done by the two (2) crew members of the driver. Violation of this rule shall result in automatic disqualification of the driver in the race where he is running and he shall be given the DNF time. A disqualified driver maybe allowed to run again in the next race if he has to.

    Tow straps, ropes or winch and their accessories maybe allowed to recover a stalled vehicle.

    The driver whether a novice or an open class driver, and his co driver, if he has one, must wear a helmet, whether open face or full face.

    Scoring:

    A participant, whether a novice or an open class driver must run twice (2 times). His best time in any of his two (2) runs shall determine his final standing.

    In determining the time of the driver, the following rules shall be observed:

    In case the driver bumps or sidesweep the buntings in the race track or the posts to which they are tied, the driver shall be penalized with an additional time of one (1) minute in case the buntings are cut.

    If the post falls down or is uprooted as a result, an additional time of three (3) minutes shall be included in his time. If the buntings tangles with any part of the vehicle and the driver continues to run and detaches the remaining buntings of the track or run over the remaining posts, he shall be penalized with an additional time of five (5) minutes to his time.

    No crew members of the driver is allowed to hold the buntings to enable him to pass tight turns or execute any maneuver. Any violation of this rule shall result in automatic disqualification of the driver in the race in which he is running and he shall be given the DNF time. A disqualified driver maybe allowed, however, to run again in the next race if he has to.

    The DNF time shall be announced before the race.

    The organizer of the race reserves the right to change any of the foregoing rules or impose additional rules. Such change or imposition of additional rules can be done only before the start of the race and any modification or addition to the rules shall be properly announced to the participants before the start of the race

    A participant who submits an entry form with his signature acknowledges that he/she has read the rules and fully understands
    the same.


    If all four (4) wheels of the race vehicle travel outside the race track as indicated by the buntings, the driver shall be disqualified and given the DNF time whether or not the buntings are cut or the post to which they are tied falls down or is uprooted. In case only two (2) wheels of said vehicle go off the race track, the driver shall not be disqualified; however if in the process buntings are cut or the post falls down or is uprooted, the corresponding additional time penalty shall be imposed upon the driver.
