It made us realize the importance of having the crucial video evidence when undesirable commotion took place. Now that dashcams have become more common, more and more varieties of dashcams have appeared, some of them even boasting an internal battery. And I am reviewing one such dashcam this time – the Transcend DrivePro 230. For starters, the DrivePro 230 harnesses the combined might of the Sony Exmor sensor and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technologies. This grants the DrivePro 230 the ability to capture sharp, high resolution images and 1080p full HD videos at 30fps with extremely fine tonal gradation, even in adverse low light conditions and at night. What’s more, its intuitive user interface is a breeze to master, not forgetting its novel ability to snap still photos while recording videos simultaneously.

Crucially, this endows the DrivePro 230 with a Parking Monitoring Mode that utilizes both a motion detection system and time-lapse video recording functions, thus enhancing vehicle security when parked. Forward Collision Alert enables the camera detecting vehicles and objects at the front while you’re driving. You can configure the minimum speed to enable the detection so that you won’t be notified during low speeds. The lane departure warning is my favorite feature of all. Given the right lighting condition with properly drawn lanes, the camera can tell apart if you’re drifting away from your current lane or not. Just like the front collision warning, users can configure the minimum speed that enables this warning. Rounding off its impressive basics is the presence of a decent microphone and speaker, the latter enhancing on-device playback for users.

Just got this DP230 coming from my DP220. Napansin ko lang not working yung auto screen shutoff if active ang speed alarm and forward collision warning sa DP230. Before sa DP220 pwede ka mag set ng auto screen shutoff after X seconds while speed alarm and FCW enabled.

Also sa video screen ng dash cam wala pa yung GPS coordinates sa DP230, nasa main video file siya sa SD Card naka overlay. Sa DP220 kasi you can see the GPS coordinates sa video screen.

I have the same brand but I think we have different models. I had mine done by an expert as I don't want to see wires exposed as much as possible.

And the wire that I use to charge my phone is exposed and there's nothing I can do to hide it, much to my annoyance that it made a scratch​ to the piano black finish.
