Honda Wave Key

magkaiba ang wave key at ang immobilizer. any key, be it wave or conventional, can have an immobilizer. and not all wave keys have immobilizer.

if there is no blinking RED key on your gauge cluster after you take the key out of the ignition, NO immobilizer.

As I've mentioned on the first page, immobilizer and wave key ay magkaiba. Kahit hindi wavekey, pedeng magkaron ng immobilizer. i.e. USDM Mazda3 has an immobilizer but not a wave key design.

Ganito na lang, hindi literal pero somewhat close.

immobilizer = software design
wave key = hardware design

Also available for the first time on a BMW in this class is Comfort Access. All cars receive a newly designed key that replaces the conventional blade-type key but with Comfort Access the key contains an ID Sensor that the car recognises from a short distance away. well, not really ... kasi (the manual says) you need to hold the door handle to unlock the door ... holding the door handle allows the detection of the key in your pocket ... funny because if an intruder watches you, he'll be wondering why he can't open the door but you can!

my error ... keys with comfort access feature do not have rechargeable battery ... the battery is simply replaced when exhausted

but keys without comfort access do have the rechargeable battery ... these keys, athough comfort-access look-alike, are just basic remote control

yup ... i had the same impression as yours until i RTFM!

the manual actually calls it "convenient access", not "comfort access" ... little things you get from translating languages

medyo ot pero parang wave key rin ...

sa bmw meron sila tinatawag "comfort access" ... the "key" actually is a transceiver of sort ... the car disarms and unlocks whenever it is within vicinity and you can start/drive the car (via start/stop button on the dash) with the key in your pocket ... the key also stores some settings you do on your car, e.g., radio stations, seat adjustments (nice for husband/wife drivers)

what i find really interesting is ... it has rechargeable battery and gets recharged whenever it is inserted in its socket on the dash without electrical contacts (!) so it must be magnetic induction just like those braun toothbrush ... walang magawa yung mga germans noh?

accdg to some website, The VW security system requires a transponder-equipped key to start the car. A transponder is a small electronic chip embedded in the head of the key. When the key is turned to the "start" position, the car emits a small burst of radio-frequency energy. This energy powers the key and instructs it to emit a reply to the car. If the code in the reply doesn't match the code asked for, the car will not start, even though the ignition will turn and the starter operates.

ang narinig ko e sa lexus daw e yung voice ata o fingerprint mo yung magiging susi mo. I think meron nyan sa bagong lexus nila yung pinakamahal nilang sedan.

3k to 5k each. wave with immobilizer

Hello mga peeps,

I had mine duplicated sa Keycards sa SM Pampanga. It costed me P1,200. They just transferred the immobilizer/transmitter unit into the new key and it works. Yung luma ko kasing wave key nag crack dahil naipit sa bulsa.

Wave key?

Actually its called a High security key or Laser type key. Honda, Kia, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes use this type of key as it is harder to lock pick.

Last time I picked one of these locks it took me 45mins...
