it could be really a complicated one for BMW. I was watching the NEWS a couple of weeks ago and some Prime Minister couldn't get out because the door-locks' chip malfunctioned. I forgot how they were able to get him out tho'. I always see BMWs having their car alarm installed with Viper, Cliffords etc. at some shop.Originally posted by slip-slick
do you guys know what alarms can be installed on BMWs (specifically e30)? i asked some shops in alabang westgate. they told me that BMW door locks have vacuum-type mechanisms and that the usual car alarms available (autopage, viper, cobra) cannot be installed on my e30. but there were also some shops there that said these alarms can be installed. now i'm thinking maybe the shops that said these alarms can be installed are just after some business, and that the alarm will not last long. (i did notice that the BMW door locks are a bit harder to lock/unlock compared to my Civic). you guys have any opinion on this?
you are right, if someone really wants your car, they can and will try to get it. Just depends how BAD does the carnapper wants it. How effective they are? What makes you think that the bolts on your wheels wont break? ANSWER: trust, reputation, quality and probability of failure.hmmm... just a thought... how can you realy assess if a certain brand of car alarm is really effective or not? expensive cars with expensive factory installed anti-theft are still "carnappable"...
