    I'm using SJCAM SJ4000Wifi.

About 1 year and 4 months na sya. Lagi lang sya naka kabit sa kotse. Once ko pa lang ginamit as action cam.

If it serves its purpose, then it is not a waste of money. Kaya ako naglagay ng hard wire is para maging free ang 12v cigarette lighter port and also to make wiring tidy or invisible. Which is yun nga ang naging result.

The fuse is optional. Yup, mababa lang ang current load ng dashcam. Kaya naman ako gumamit ng fuse tap is para madali ang installation. Just tap to the fuse box.

I am not referring to the hard wiring as a waste of money but rather the hard wiring kit. You can hardwire it without a hard wire kit or with a must less expensive fuse tap.

Ako mismong planning to hardwire for the same reason as yours. Pero na-realize ko unnecessary expense yung hardwire kit na ginamit mo. But anyway, your money, your rules.

It is money well spent for me.

Not everyone needs a hardwire kit but to say that we are wasting money is rude. Imho.

I don;t know what is rude with saying that. It is an opinion. Anyway, read my post again. I already said "your money, your rules".

nevermind him, probably he isn't well informed of what your dashcam is capable of.
the hardwire kit still draws power even when your engine/acce mode is off, your dashcam has gsensor/motion detect capabilities and can record even on park mode
and auto power cuts off depends on the setting on put on it.

Ito yung sinasabi ko. No hardwire kit necessary.

hardwire kit is needed for 5V dashcams. kelangan kasi yung 12v to 5v adapter, hindi pwedeng rekta.

yan din akala ko. pero ang balak ko tap from fuse box then connect to power adapter that comes with the dash cam. that out-of-the box power adapter surely converts 12v to 5v, right?
