    Split-screen allows me to view any two maps for online-online or online-offline... for redundancy.

    Waze + Google Maps

    Waze + Sygic (Offline - Basic World Lifetime License)

    But I've never found a need to do it and most of the time, I just split it between media streaming and Waze

    It's a CarlinKit Tbox Ambient (Android 13). I discussed it here: Android Auto and here: Dito telecommunity

    It's basically an Android box but instead of sending the A/V signal traditionally via HDMI, it 'streams' an Android tablet experience over the Apple CarPlay protocol to your HU. It's really a clever implementation. So your Apple CarPlay/Android Auto-capable HU is essentially converted into an Android device. It will now run practically any Android app without restriction. This is particularly useful if your radio is hard-integrated with the vehicle and cannot be changed with an aftermarket HU.

    It connects like this...

    HU <-(USB)-> CarlinKit <-(Bluetooth)-> Phone

    Everything still works.... steering wheel remote, and I can go back to the factory radio anytime to listen to broadcasts. Phone calls comes through to your HU through CarlinKit. It's got its own GPS (for navigation) and can take in a SIM card so it can work with or without your phone.
