I just want to know your opinion. Would you agree to the use of headlight during daytime will be a major factor in improving road visibility? What would you do if your company impose this as mandatory?

I dont think its necessary in the Philippines - but i would highly suggest to turn on your headlights in bad weather, night time, fog and when there is limited visibility.

Daylight running lights are mandatory in Canada because of the seasons. During winter, the sun sets at about 4pm and sun rises late (past 8am). During fall, the sun is up but you cant see it coz its cloudy. I can remember back in Canada when i was listening to the radio and the DJ said "this is the 60th day of the whole year that we had sunshine"......

ako bukas na park lights ko pag medyo umuulan na and makulimlim.
then on na headlights pag medyo malakas ulan and/or madilim na.
pag sobra talaga lakas ng ulan, hazards na. hehehe :D mahirap na hindi makita

I also drive this way quite often. In other markets, DRL's run the high-beams at 80%. However, since this is not available locally, I just run the low beams.

Sa Expressways at provincial highways, automatic na sa akin mag-on ng ilaw.

yes, headlights really do help with visibility even when the sun is up. especially in side mirrors... and this increased really provides a tangible safety benefit in my view

i dont agree with those who say that DRLs are redundant because you should be able to see a big shiny vehicle in broad daylight. you can't have enough visiblity to other drivers

IMOI don't think its advisable to have your hazards on during bad weather. As much as possible you should be visible to your fellow motorists all the time during bad weather and the on and off action off hazard lights will be more of a distraction than help, turning on your headlights and parklights would be enough.

That would depend on where you drive. If you drive in heavy traffic (Metro Manila) - i would say - its good for nothing.

ot: i agree. pag malakas ulan, hindi ako nakahazard..hazard lights should be on during emergencies, afaik. ang hirap tuloy i-determine sa malakas na ulan kung ano yung nakatigil na kotse na nakahazard or sa gumagalaw na nakahazard

ok lang for me. When I ride a bike parang SOP na sa akin yun e. Not for better road visibility but mainly for the other vehicles to see that you are there.

i agree, mahirap nga talagang madetermine kung ano yung nakahazzard na mobile sa nakastop. Extra care should be observed talaga in the event of heavy downpour.

I don't think it is applicable here in the Philippines since many of our vehicles aren't equipped with DRL switches.

if you noticed, those with DRL (mostly Chevys) only have lights up in front but their tail lamps are still off - since it is quite hard to distinguish if the car is already braking (especially for non-crystal tail lamps & those without 3rd brake lamps) when in broad daylight.

Mmm... pag sira park lights mo sa likod, please replace it before travelling specially on long drives, and specially on bad weather, mas delikado pa yung naka hazzard lalo na pag umuulan and limited yung visibility. Konting deciplina lang and considerasion sa kapwa motorista.

minsan case to case basis ang paghazard pag umuulan... kung zero visibility maghazard ka na, since sobrang bagal mo, parang medyo immobile ka na rin... talagang dapat magingat and always check your brakes, daming dumudulas sa flyover at binabangga yun nasa harap pag malakas yun ulan... hassle pa bumaba ng auto dahil mababasa ka...
