there are so many hid in the market today, it is quite confusing. im looking for hid with h4 hi/low some are selling for php 5o,ooo while others for php 30,000. which is better? the taiwan bulb with philips ballast of should i go philips or " made in germany " all the way ? what is the best kelvin if my windshield is tinted with 3m panther black?
Afaik, Taiwan and Japan made HID kits are over rated interms of color temperature. Their package claims 10,000K when the actual color temp is only 7500-8000K.
Look for the original Philips or Hella brand ballasts and bulbs, they far more superior when compared to imitation kits. I have tried 4300K and 6000K. The latter provides more white hue but the previous kit is better for city driving due to its color temp suited on our streets. I have read somewhere that the best color temp should be close to the sun's kelvin which is 5000K.
Fogs, HIDs have no contest to it. As I have observed from most vehicles. You will need a yellow hue for the light to penetrate fogs. Even a stock headlight beam would simply bounce back. And in most cases, fog lights need to have a scattered beam or driving beam pattern not the pencil cut pattern.
On rainy situations, it all depends how heavy the downpour is. I could safely say that HIDs can perform quite well on rains. Not that it's much better than halogens.
your whole windshield is covered with super black tint? wow... why not switch to a lighter magic tint to improve your visibility? tutal invisible ka pa rin naman sa labas nun
