Hello, nabangga yung 2009 Honda Jazz ko last sunday night.

    img_5772.jpg
    img_5773.jpg
    img_5774.jpg
    img_5776.jpg

nadala na sya sa casa, ang estimated na cost is:

    Total labor: 104,899.52
    Total parts: 378, 329.54
    Total paint materials: 28,000
    Total shop materials: 4,480

    TOTAL JOB COST: 515,709.06

of course since casa to, the parts might be way overpriced. my question is, do you guys think na kaya pa to dalhin sa accredited repair shop (sabi ng insurance ko, accredited daw nila yung Technique Automobile sa Paco, Manila) where sabi ng insurance, mas madali mapalitan ng surplus yung parts so mas mura? or mag pa declare na lang ako ng total loss tapos dalhin ko sa ibang repair shop kung saan ako mas makakamura rin?

eto yung works to be done sabi ng casa:

    a) Remove/Reinstall all involved parts

    b) straighten/reform/align & weld RH Front and read door panel, LH front and rear door panel, LH Quarter panel, tailgate panel, sparetire compartment, RH gutter, RH inner rear panel, front bumper beam, rear end panel, bulkhead assy

    c) Repaint/ Rubdown repaired areas to body color, all panels

    d) rustrproofing

    e) electrical works
-replace left and right headlight assy, right tail light assy/ check and evaluate all electrical wirings and connections

    f) mechanical works
    -replace right rear suspensions

    g) Glassman works
-replace rear windshield/ pull down right quarter glass to give way to replace right quarter panel

    h) chassis alignment (minor)
    -rear

    i) wheel alignment via quick check 1350

    j) upholstery wworks
    -replace roof lining/right rear linings

    k) interior detailing with engine wash

    l) mount/dismount tires per wheel
    -right rear magwheel

    m)aircon works
    -replace AC Condenser

    n) replace radiator assy

    o) check engine performance

Sa parts, mahaba yung listahan. so ang question ko is, what's the best option:
    a) have everything repaired with Honda
    b) have it repaired to insurance company's accredited repaired shop
    c) get money from total loss then have it repaired with some cheaper repair shop?
    d) any other suggestions?

pag declared syang total wreck, i get to keep the car. tapos ang makukuha ko is sum insured (420,000 pesos) minus salvage value.

^ok yan ah, you get the car and the cash.

do you really want to repair the car? IMO spend the cash on a brand new unit

too good to be true... you keep the car and get the money. hope you clear this with them and have everything documented and signed.

usually the insurance pays you and because they "bought" the car from you, this becomes their property.

If it's insured for P420K,- and the insurance agree that it's a total wreck,- just get the money and buy another vehicle.... IMO.

Insurance mo ang mag shoshoulder ng majority of the expenses.

Wag kang papayag na surplus lang ang ipapalit na mga parts.

Also you cant claim the car ata once na declare na as total loss. so di mo sya mapapagawa.

same dilemma before car is already 6 years old nung nabangga still in compre insurance.

    We got offered 2 options:

You get the car + an amount

Insurance get your car in exchange for the insured amount minus yung deductibles.

We opted to get the insured amount, hassle magpagawa ng malaking damage. Kaya nga even the insurance is declaring it as total loss sila.

Malaki pa yung amount ng damage sa value ng kotse.

Eto offer pala nahalukay ko pa hehe

Compute mo sir how much aabutin ng salvage value na idededuct sa amount insured mo. Kung less than 100k go for it. Then pa ayos mo nalang yung car with surplus parts tapos benta mo. Ang laki din kasi ng 30% na depreciation na babayaran mo sa parts eh kung ipapaayos mo and kung surplus naman for sure wala pang 1 year meron na lalabas na problem sa car mo.

In my exprience before kasi I opted for surplus parts to be installed para participation nalang bayaran ko. I still end up replacing some of those parts with brand new after 8 months. So after nun naisip ko sana brand new nalang kinuha ko para kahati insurance sa cost ng bagong part.

If you want to retain the car, another option would be to carefully assess which parts to be repaired, replaced by surplus and which to be replaced by brand new parts to ensure na good condition pa din yung car. Pag dating naman sa labor shoulder ng insurance.

Unless you own a shop... give the insurance company the car.

420k minus deductible... if they declare the car as worth more than 150k... lugi ka na.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

The insurance policy says "in case of a total loss, the Assured shall keep the salvage arising from the loss. Claims settlement shall be based on the sum insured less the salvage value of the damaged unit". Sir, what do you think is a fair amount for salvage value para hindi ako malugi? Hindi ko din kasi alam gagawin sa sasakyan after nito e.

Wow that's very helpful, sir! nakalagay sa policy ko na "In case of a total loss, the Assured shall keep the salvage arising from the loss. Claims settlement shall be based on the sum insured less the salvage value of the damaged unit."

My question is, yung sum insured nya is P426,465.00. The policy was issued on September 11, 2014. May depreciation rate pa bang ibabawas sa sum insured na yan? Also, what's a fair amount for the salvage value? I'm thinking kasi na most likely, tataasan nila yung salvage value. syempre i want to get the most benefit as possible naman sa sitwasyon na to.

dapat ang basehan ng claim mo is ung insured amount na Php 426,465.00 less participation less the "X amount of depreciation (ito ung dapat na depreciation rate lang na nakalagay sa taas)" plus the salvage value of the car. wag na wag kang papayag (iaatempt nila) na idepreciate pa yan from september 2014 up to the date of accident.

ahh okay so tama ba to sir, P426,465 minus participation minus (25% of P426,465) minus salvage value (because the policy says im keeping the car)?
