have a notarized explanation that despite all efforts, you cannot locate your original nor xerox documents. then, go to the LTO branch where you last registered the car and present your document to them. they'll tell you what additional steps you have to do. of course, all this will take some expenses.. but it can be done. tiyaga lang at paghihintay nang kaunti. i know. i did it before.

but be wary also as the LTO is somewhat strict on this policy, they might think you lost it intentionally for some unscrupulous purposes or worst they may also consider your vehicle to be carnapped or hot car...

unless you can proved to them its the other way around by: showing receipt/s from the casa/dealer where you purchase your unit in case of brand new while if second hand the deed of sale and/or acknowledgment receipt of payments made aside from the insurance policy stating your name on it, for sure you can provide those documents if you're really the legitimate and true owner...HTH!
