I'm sure he does. But what his profit margin is isn't necessarily the same for all distributors/dealerships.
In any case, I'd go with what auto journalists are willing to publish over a random guy on the internet who spoke to an unnamed "executive".

December 15th, 2017 04:36 PM #323Sirs,
If there a new law, implement ba agad? Because if I remember it correctly, when they increase tax exemption on 13th month pay, they went through pa discussion on Implementing Rules. Is it the same here with the TRAIN?

December 15th, 2017 07:44 PM #326Once the bill was signed by the president. It will not take effect immediately. All bills passed into law shall have implementing rules to be drafted by affected office/department. In this case, BIR or DOF shall create implementing rules. Once implementing rules were approved by Cabinet Secretary and President without any objection from Congress and Senate or TRO from SC, the law shall now take effect depending on the date set on implementing rules.

Looks like pickups (normal dual cabs) are included in the excise tax hike. Single cabs are exempted.

Also of significance is the exemption of vehicles such as trucks, cargo vans, jeeps (i.e. "owner" type), jeepneys, jeepney substitutes (i.e. FB body), special purpose vehicles (i.e. cement mixer, crane trucks, etc.) and single cab pick-up trucks. Double-cab pick-ups are covered by the bill.
