    Hello po,

Newbie pa lang po ako sa pagdrive. Looking for best car insurance po. Any suggestions po?

[emoji4]

I couldn't recommend AXA / Charter Ping An, I had a bad experience. Others had a good experience, including my friend who recommended that company to me. Making a claim is like passing through the eye of the needle. I had to send a narrative to their main office to get attention. Perhaps it would have been a different story if I were not a walk-in client. I think they prioritize those who are in-house financing.

I am with CGIC for the second time. The premium is a bit high.

First year was about 50,000. If I remember it right, I paid 38,000 for this year. Participation fee is about 10,000.

Nica is highly recommended here. I have yet to contact her. I don't see her in this forum and I don't have any recollection of her being active.

I think Nhica changed positions but is still with Mapfre. I got my Mapre insurance thru her with my previous car. She was the first one I called when I got in an accident to inquire about the claims process. Mapfre assessor came to our house a couple of days after filing my claim, all repairs were done by the accredited casa without any issues, at least on Mapfre's side. IIRC even the participation fee was waived.

Now have a new vehicle that is under BPI/MS. When I got into a hit and run situation, had to bring the vehicle for appraisal to the nearest BPI/MS office in Cavite which has almost no space for parking. Approval took some time because of the Holy Week. Had no issues with the claim.

Between the two providers, I had a better experience with Mapfre. I would have also chosen Mapfre for my new vehicle if not for the fact that BPI/MS has better rates since the car is also loaned under BPI.

It's nice to see a post from a long time member like you. I might try calling Nica by the end of the year. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I read good reviews about FPG so yun ang kinuha ko nung una. Kaso the following year hindi na siya inooffer ng ecomparemo. I'm now with Mafre.

Yung kapatid ko may nakabanggaan and she had to deal with the insurance of the other party. Naimpressed niya so she switched to that insurance the next year which is FPG.

I haven't had any claim eh. Yung bangga sakin ng mc last year, di ko na pinasok ganun din dahil sa participation kasi.

kung pumayag siya na papalitan ang kotse mo, why not?

but your more practical resource, is probably your own insurance.
have an official police report made. your insurance will look for it.
talk to your insurance asap and no one else. may taning yan.
if you make a settlement or agreement with the other party, your insurance might refuse to have anything to do with you.
    good luck.

Hound your insurance. Sila bahala dyan makipagusap sa insurance ng kabila. Refrain from talking directly to the other party lest be accused of having a settlement amd be denied by your insurance

I have a question regarding car insurance. I have a claim before due to accident my rear door was hit and incurred damage including the rear side panel. It is almost done and I will pay the shop next week in order to get my car. I thought I was only going to pay the Php2,000 deductible but the shop told me I have to shell out extra Php5,000 because they also replaced the bumper retainer which they say is original and also the horizontal tail chrome which they say is not part of the whole rear door assembly which I also need to pay part of my share. The total cost is Php70,000 for the whole repair and replacement of the rear door and my share is Php2,000 deductible and another Php5,000 for the parts mentioned. My question is why do I need to pay Php5,000 for the share of the parts mentioned? Can I argue it with the insurance company?

Old car ba? Meron talaga depreciation pag nagpalit ng parts.

Is the shop that's charging you extra? If it is, you have to refer it to your insurance company so they will cover it,

Edit: after reading shadow reply and re reading your post, mukhang depreciation cost nga at accessories not covered, I assume, more than 5 yo na car mo

Yes it is the shop well the insurance company did shoulder everything except for the rear bumper retainer and tail chrome the shop told me they cannot find surplus so they bought it original so if original I need to pay part of the depreciated cost. I haven't talk to my insurance company but seems like the shop and insurance company already talk about it. They replaced the whole rear door and didn't charge me anything depreciated cost because it is surplus? This is the first time that I had a somewhat major accident.... before was just minor and I just pay the deductible and thats it.

you pay the depreciation cost to the insurance company, not to the shop.
bahala na yung insurer at shop mag-hati.

I think anything that did not come standard with the vehicle is termed accessories, you need to declare these to be covered, also the radio or it's equivalent now is also considered accessories.

The encircled portion tail chrome they charge me a percentage of if because they say it is not part of the rear door assembly and they have to bought it brand new but the whole rear door they replaced it with no added depreciation charge.
