July 4th, 2008 11:55 PM #51Rising oil price is a global crisis. Bakit pa kasi ininvade ang iraq, tuloy na monopolize nila ang oil industry (saudi and US) . Nonetheless, I think the price would reach around 70 by year end to a maximum of 100 depending on the strength of the peso against the dollar.

Yes, China is stockpiling oil for the Olympics. It would be embarassing if they run out of oil during the Olympics.

China is likely stockpiling commodities ahead of the Olympics, including construction materials to build infrastructure, and food and fuel for athletes and visitors. I think China had to buy at any price, but that should ebb somewhat once the Olympics end. China is like the girl going to the prom and wants to look good to the world in her pretty dress, and is spending for the big event. Of course, there will continue to be demand from China and other emerging countries after the Olympics, but there won’t be a deadline associated with it, and the need not likely so urgent.Last edited by uls; July 6th, 2008 at 02:49 PM.
