vtec3 tipid sa gas shift point

i've read the theory/facts pages sa internet about vtec3. sa totoong buhay naman tayo, real driving conditions.
sa mga ES owners na vtec3, anong rpm kayo nag-shi-shift that gives you the best fuel economy?
i used to shift at 2000rpm, now im following the manual's recommended shift points of 24, 40, 64, 75 km/h.

For me, shift in such a way that you can afford to step on the gas pedal as lightly as possible. Others tend to shift quickly but hit the throttle more, which obviously isn't the most efficient way to go. If I'm correct, less RPM + light foot = best economy. :D

Yup, that's the way to go... drive as if there's an egg under your gas pedal but you adjust your driving style depending on load and road conditions as there are cases where driving to the higher RPM's will use less fuel then shifting early (i.e. heavy load, climbing hills, etc.).

Just try to get accustomed with how your car responds to varying loads and road conditions. You should be able to sense if it can sustain a certain speed in a particular gear.

just shift at the lowest rpm at which your engine won't lug at upshift. usually kaya naman sa 2,000 to 2,500 rpm, even for gutless honda engines hehehe (you'll need a little patience though... your pace will be rather leisurely). you can shift at lower speeds than the ones indicated in the manual.

but of course, don't hesitate to rev higher than that when conditions call for it.

yung mga recommended shift points sa manual na 24, 40, 64, at 75 kmh, is at 3000rpm.
short drives kasi ako palagi eh (4.5 km),city/trapik driving pa. tried shifting at 2000 before, but amazingly the 3000rpm shift point gave me better fuel economy.
i'll try shifting at 2500rpm from now on, and see if its better.
