I talked to Taxi driver that their using LPG. Has to complain it usage. And many people complain on the smoke emission of LPG. Masakit sa ilong.

Delicado ito sa mga old people na may heart problem. At nahihirapan tayo huminga pag nadaan natin ang LPG taxi.

    A safety reminder:

Kapag andyan siguro ang LPG taxi kailan tayo magtakip ng ilong na gamit ay panyo. Para hindi tayo nakalanghap ng lpg smoke. I usually do that when there LPG taxi.

Any engine that is out of spec will result in foul emissions. Be it diesel, gas, or whatever you are combusting.

The odorant is there as a warning. If there was no odorant. You'd still get dizzy and be at a risk of fire without even having a clue.

Think of the odorant as your friend. It reminds you that the engine is out of tune. Just like the black dust cloud that shoots out from my vehicle's tailpipe when I forget to do routine maintenance.

pag poorly tuned ang sasakyan kahit ano pa yan ke gasoline or lpg... baho din. thing is, sanay kasi tayo sa gasoline smell kaya ayun. we currently have 52 units of taxi and ako lang nagtutune nun lahat. e d dapat namatay na ko kung masama diba? or nagkasakit? na sa pagtutune yan. although d ko madedeny na may masamang amoy talaga sa emission ng ibang taxi. pero this is only due to bad tuning.

    share ko lang:

ang usual salita ng bagong taxi drivers samin is masama daw lalamunan or nanunuyo kasi may naaamoy silang lpg. pag check ko, usually nagleak na panis na gas from the fuel pump or power steering fluid(pagnasira hose).

my thought would be on this is; everytime you smell something you dont want, you tend not to breathe it in. tendency nyan e mahilo ka (lack of air intake) or something.

pero kung ban ang LPG powered car sa japan as earlier stated in this thread, it would make you wonder or question why.

    thoughts?

Mabaho lang po ang amoy ng LPG exhaust dahil sa additives...

...but compared to regular gasoline smoke, less harmful ang contents nung sa LPG.

...another thing kaya amoy na amoy yung baho sa karamihan ng taxis, usually dahil kulang sa alaga (tune up)...

share ko lang din. puro macro kasi kit namin. kaya sa pagmamayabang sa mga drivers samin, nagsisindi ako ng lighter sa loob ng trunk just to let them see na safe sila. madami kasing drivers na maraming nuninuni about LPG lalo na pag bagong magmamaneho ng LPG powered taxi.

there was even one time na nagsindi ako ng lighter sa ibabaw ng carb habang nakapatay yung engine. well you guessed it, lumihab nga! hahaha! pero d naman sumabog. sumindi lang yung natira. i assumed that it would. pag hindi kasi umaandar ang engine using a macro kit, d yan maglileak kahit magpalatero ka pa. that's my experience with a macro kit anyways. been using it for 1yr pa lang naman.

meron din kaming naiadss powered taxi's. nung binili namin sya installed na sya so walang nagkwento na sales guy about it's limitation kaya i dont play around with it for the drivers' benefit.

add ko na lang din: (bigla na lang din kasi pumapasok sa isip ko) this was the time nung nagreresearch ako regarding LPG kung magiinstall kami last year. on a website, it states na sa HK lahat ng taxi nila LPG powered. tama ba yun. so twas good enough for me. then hinanap ko din mga "sakit sakit ek ek" regarding LPG. ala ko mahanap e.

also as ghosthunter had earlier stated regarding air filter, pagnagdumi/bumara na, tendency is to restrict air from coming in. prublema nyan e walang naglilimit sa flow ng LPG since it's preconfigured sya. kinalabasan, magri-rich ang A/F mix nya. so resulta.. matapang na amoy ng LPG sa exhaust.

pero going back to topic para masummarize na isip ko about "mabaho", well mabaho nga ang LPG kasi nga dinagdagan sya ng chem so you could tell kung may leak nga. since ginagamit natin to sa household, i seriously doubt na maglalagay sila ng toxic diba? flammable sya pero i doubt kung toxic nga. with the proper tuning(correct a/f mix) ok lang emission with that faint smell of added chem.

    peace!
