April 12th, 2010 03:01 PM #1i was told by the station attendant at shell libis this morning that shell was phasing out its super premium. since unleaded and super premium are both 93 octane, the latter was redundant. the variants will only be unleaded and v power with their respective prices.

i thought super premium is 95 octane?
super unleaded = 93
super premium = 95
v power = 97(?)

Sana nga ganoon pero Bio fuels act mandates use of E10. Sana man lang meron sila variant kahit E5 for other cars na hindi pwede E10 talaga since most old cars can take 5% ethanol into their fuel..

Their price difference is approx P0.50/L,- so it makes sense to eliminate one product. However, normally, companies would obsolete the one with the less price... Maybe in this case, they have bigger margin with the Unleaded....

July 1st, 2010 12:19 PM #9i started the thread when i loaded gas at the shell station on the katipunan bound lane beside Mcdo as informed by the station manager. although their price board still signifies that the station does not carry Premium, they obviously got things wrong.
