Pure Diesel

Has anyone tried the "Pure Diesel" that is being marketed by the new oil companies?

I read a write-up on it in the motoring section of Philippine Star last Aug. 29. The highlights of the article are:

• City Oil, Eastern Petroleum, Jetti, SeaOil and UniOil banded together to make this product available to the public now, even before the November implementation of the Clean Air Act provision that requires diesel fuels to have a sulfur content of no more than 0.05
• Pure Diesel also claims to have a narrower boiling range that prevents over-fueling in the diesel engine and eliminates the trademark black exhaust smoke
• Has a higher cetane index of 52-53 which improves ignition quality

So what do you guys think? I use SeaOil diesel, but I haven't refilled for this week so I can't comment on the veracity of these claims.

I was gonna reload in Seaoil San Juan but the people there could not confirm if they actuall had the new "pere diesel".

It's worth a try. Medyo malayo pa from the finest diesel but at least better than the sludge we use now.

what are the specs of our current diesel fuel and how do they compare with the specs of the so-called "Pure Diesel"?

if i recall correctly, there was a thread before that tried to determine what the cetane rating and other properties of the big three diesel fuels were, but i don't know if that question ever got answered.

Formula ng diesel now? 50% diesel, 50% tubig ng pasig river. Ninanakaw kasi sa barge, eh. Hehehe.

Mataas ang sulfur ng diesel ngayon. It is good for engines pero bad for humans.

word around is.. these small gas companies have ties outside wherein they can bring in the so called clean diesel.... shell, and caltex are also going to bring in their clean diesel... and only Petron daw ang magmamanufacture dito... Petron is already in the process of reconfiguring their depot(?), etc to make those clean diesel.

That's why never refill in gas stations kung san may baha or lubog ang lot. Fuels are more prone to be contaminated by flood water leaks into the dealer's tanks.

The small players can easily introduce these new "pure diesels" kasi they import the finished product! diesel and gas na mismo binababa sa pier. Unlike the big three na light sweet crude ang binibili tapos nirerefine pa!

Anyway, try ko mag Unioil next full tank.

tried it this week wala pa akong masabi dahil meron pang 1/4 nung nagpakarga ako.

pero sa cetane rating difference I'll take it.

i gas up at SeaOil once a week. So far, puro half tank pa lang ng Pure Diesel ang nakakarga ko kasi palaging may half tank na natitira from my previous gassing up. Maganda yung performance ng fuel para sa Sedona... no smoke and good acceleration. Of course, even before the small players came out with the Pure Diesel, SeaOil's diesel has always been good in my book.

Am currently using up the remaining fuel in my tank (nasa 1/4th na lang ako) so I can evaluate using a full tank of the stuff).

I tried the pure diesel of City oil at CAA road (15.50/li). Full tank and kinarga ko sa carnival ko and immediately noticed improvements in acceleration and vibration. I used shell ultra before and compared to pure diesel ang layo ng performance.

I'm on my sticking to pure diesel and would like to try biodiesel soon.

Share ko lang, 2 suki ko na gas station, Seaoil and Petron. Kung saan matiempuhan dun ako nagpapakarga. I'm also using Biodiesel. Less engine vibration and good accelaration.

Pero nung ma-introduce ang pure diesel ay sa seaoil na ako palagi, dito ko na-notice na humina ang hatak ng ride ko at umingay ang makina. Checked ko ang fuel tank kung may tubig pero wala naman, nagpalit na rin ako ng fuel filter, ganun pa rin. Akala ko kulang ako sa biodiesel so nagdagdag ako, pero ganun pa rin, para pa yatang lalung lumakas ang vibration.

Kaya nang mag-1/4 ang tank ko ay sa Petron ako nagpa-full, in just a few minutes naramdaman ko agad na tumahimik ang makina at lumakas ang hatak.

Never mix pure diesel with biodiesel? Ganun kaya iyun?
