agressive advertising nila as of late on multiple platforms. we have been maintaining our vehicles for decades without this "magic elixir" and wala naman issues. masyado pang outlandish claims. "engine glides smoothly" ???

    additional gastos lang

    Yup. Multiple threads.

Always been a bit eccentric, but he's gotten a bit worse over the past few weeks.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Just follow recommended PMS interval okay na yan...

unfortunately, if you do just that, follow recommended PMS interval, it is not enough and not even close to prolong the engine life.

Fact: Combustion by-products contaminates your oil
Fact: The typical motor oil picks up the by-products and puts them in suspension. The bigger particulate matter is trapped in the oil filter, the smaller ones remains in suspension until the oil is changed.
Fact: Corrosive chemicals formed by combustion such as acids are neutralized by the oil's basic (TBN) additive... acid and base neutralizes each other and just as everything else, the TBN wears out too. If the TBN runs out, acids will have free reign and attack metal engine parts.
Fact: Heat wears out the additives as well. It wears out the additive that prevents the oil from shearing, among many others. The detergent is also an additive and is as well subject to wear. If they become worn down before oil is changed, guess what happens to the suspended particles? They form sludge... waxy, muddy gunk that blocks oil passageways, causing the engine to slowly self-destruct.
I fully agree with you sir oj88. There are 3 types of contaminants that wears out the oil and required to be changed. They are soot, moisture and condition caused. What you mentioned fall under the condition caused contamination (oxidation, nitration and acid). The other types of oil contaminations are soot & other solids, and moisture. Soot is produced during combustion and will mix with the oil. This is aggravated with the presence of EGR in some engines. Solid contaminants come from the air intake, breather and even through the oil filling cap and dipstick. It also comes from the wear metals. Moisture is produced during combustion as well as during condensation process due to change in temp. If left in the oil this will speed up the wearing out. Fully synthetic oil has better properties and more stable. It wears out longer than mineral oil at the same operating conditions. But, still oil need to be changed because of the contaminants. Sad to say, that the OEM full flow filters (rated bet 15-40 microns) are not fine enough to trap the most wear causing particle size 1-10microns. This is where bypass filter comes in as an additional to the OEM filter. They are available at 1 micron and even smaller. By removing the contaminants continuously from the oil draining can be extended by a factor of 4 to 6 or 20,000km to 30,000km or even longer. You only have to change the filter element. There is a SAE paper on "correlating lube oil filtration efficiencies with engine wear" which stated that "wear was reduced by as much as 70% by going from 40 micron to 15 microns filter". Experts are saying that with today's bypass filter technology the wear rate reduction are higher and engine life can easily double.

My car is a 1992 model Daihatsu Charade with a GA16DE 1.6L Engine. To begin with, the car is running ok before using the metal treatment.

I have noted the following vehicle performance improvements after trying out pertua: smoother idling (tahimik masyado yung makina following yung pagkarga ng pertua); and during drive sa SLEX smooth yung takbo ng oto as expected and is what I have in mind na mangyayari.

The most notable improvement and a surprise to me is: napansin ko nawala yung vibration ng oto when running above 80kph. Dati na yung vibration na yun which I thought was oscillation because of imperfect tire balance or suspension problem.

I am not sure if may connect but wala naman ako iba ginawa na iba. Before, comfortable driving ko na yung 70-80kph kasi pag lumampas nararamdaman ko na yung aligasgas and may nararamdaman akong vibration sa manibela. Dati ng problema yun, pina align, balance na at palit ng gulong, the whole steering mechanism, shocks and mounting ganun pa din. Mahina lang naman but very annoying. After using pertua, naging negligible at lumalampas na ako ng 90-100kph na highway na smooth na takbo (Bulacan to Lucena).

I will post updates siguro pag may napansin pa akong iba.

a daihatsu charade originally with a small, (3-cylinder?) engine, now with a 4-cyl nissan sentra engine.
    nice conversion.

in our experience, the smoother idling, etc, of the engine, can be attained via a simple oil change, even with mineral oil only, and without pertua.

the rest of the above, seems like suspension and tire issues, and not engine.
