why oil prices are so high

"U.S. gasoline demand is up in part because of the growing numbers of low-mileage-per-gallon sports utility vehicles on America's highways. The United States accounts for about 45 percent of world gasoline consumption."

    :whoa:

sa US nga halos $2 na ata per liter or gallon ba yun. in PHP that's more than PHP 100

sa europe, in scandinavia for example, independent players like jet sell gasoline (95 octane pa) at 10.17kr or about PHP 78

    arrrgggghhhhh!
Here in Germany diesel is about .90 to .95 Euro and 1.10 to 1.15 for Premium.... That's about P 60 for Diesel and P70 to P75 for Premium...

we can't really compare prices of fuel across different countries, because each country has very different tax laws. for example, britain has one of the highest taxes on fuel such that the price per gallon for gasoline OR diesel is about $4 to $5, which is about twice the rate in the US.

and this is very true if we convert our pesos into their currency (like europe, US). sa taiwan naman 1 NTD : PHP 1.64 or halos 2x nga kaya naka shock siguro ang ibang gamit doon pag i-convert natin sa piso. sa ibang bansa nga, ang mcdonalds meal ay halos PHP 200, ngek!

but siguro, if you view this not in relation to the pesos but in relation rin to how much people earn in those countries, baka proportionately, tamang tama lang siguro ang presyo ng gasolina nila para sa ekonimya nila

Why aren't they importing the Hybrid Cars? Puro mga V6 and V8 pinapasok nila... Just saw in cable TV the other nite an electric version of the RAV4, and they're planning to produce a Hybrid version.
