November 8th, 2002 01:02 PM #1Hey has anyone tried the PIT PEN, STP fuel additives that are supposed to clean your fuel line and fuel injection/carbs? Are they worth it and are they safe?

November 8th, 2002 02:09 PM #2I've tried using CYCLO Super Concentrated Fuel Injector Cleaner (can be used for carbs also) and it did what it supposed to do - clean burning (I usually check my car's spark plugs and boy they're clean - no carbon fouling), improved fuel efficiency, smoother acceleration/driveability. I've bought it in Duty Free Philippines for $2.40, and last week I purchased one from Concorde for P199.75 (before it was sold for P250)
And remember to use premium fuel to maintain the cleanliness of your fuel system (I use Vortex Gold because of its advanced deposit control additive system) after treating your car with the product. 8)

November 9th, 2002 02:40 PM #5Mitsubishi released its own Fuel System Cleaner. It cleans carb, fuel injectors, intake valves, intake ports and combustion chambers..It claims that it can result to improved gas mileage, lower emissions, and reduced deposit related engine knock, ping and run-ons..haven't used it yet but i'll try it soon..
haha but they're good enough for non-pro use. i compared to the casa's Midtronics and the results...
