well some sources ay nagsasabi na magre-reduce ang world oil production ng 30% by 2020 due to declining deposits & considering consumption ng China & India by that time, this will translate to fuel shortage & skyrocketing prices...hitting $200 per barrel in 2 years...maka-afford pa kaya ang bansa natin?...so all the fruits of our labor mapunta lang sa fuel?...

the cost of $120/barrel translates to around P 57/liter. based on current price + 7 pesos under recovery that will still be charged.
at $150/barrel, it roughly translates to around P 71.25/liter or P 2,493.75 on a 35 liter full tank.
at $200/barrel, its P 95/liter or P 3,325.00 on a 35 liter full tank.

this is based on the 47.5% variance

now if you remove the VAT:
P 57.00 - 12% = P 50.16
P 71.25 - 12% = P 62.70
P 95.00 - 12% = P 83.60

The price of crude oil could soar to $200 a barrel in as little as six months, as supply continues to struggle to meet demand, a report has warned.

With benchmark US light crude passing the $122 mark for the first time on Tuesday, the warning comes from Goldman Sachs energy strategist Argun Murti.

Surging demand was increasingly likely to create a "super-spike" past $200 in six months to two years' time, he said.

Oil prices have now risen 25% in the last four months and by 400% from 2001.

Mr Murti correctly predicted three years ago - when oil was about $55 a barrel - that it would pass $100, which it reached for the first time in January of this year.

there is a reason why oil prices are getting high. nature is testing us. matira matibay and I'm sure and I'm hoping ma-lessen ang PUVs sa kalsada and not the other way around, na mga motorista mag-commute.

It is funny because I was with my friends last night having dinner and the topic came to the fuel prices... My friend who thinks he is knowledgeable said prices of a barrel of oil is now $130+ and I said ours is like 150+... We do not have cars running by LPG here so I brought up the topic and they were amazed, at least naging bida for about a minute, hehehe...

Dun sa 10k for gas and dapat ihulog nalang for a condo comment, okay po sana un kung ala ka expense sa pag commute. 10k for gas pero nakakarating ka naman sa pupuntahan mo db? i do not know kung magkano gastos sa pagcommute pero tingin ko mahal din. If you are spending 10k for gas, how much do you spend for rides? and yung time db mas matagal kung magdyip?sana kung mrt ka lagi back and forth un tingin ko malaki savings mo talaga kaso dapat ready ka nga lang sa siksikan. Ayoko rin sa fluctuation ng pamasahe. Sana government natin i consider din ung sweldo satin kapag magaaprove sila ng taas sa pamasahi. Ridiculous diba? tataas pamasahe di naman tataas sweldo. Mga commuters din naman pinapahirapan ng mga driver e, tapos humihingi pa sila support satin, ano ba un? Pagnaapprove ung hike sino ba magdudusa?gobyerno ba?hindi di ba? COMMUTERS din dahil sila magpapasan nun. D bale sana kung tatas din sahod kaso HINDI HINDI HINDI.

Parang ung EVAT sabi ng government dati hindi tayo magpapasan nun nung gusto nila ipasa un, sabi nila mga sellers papasan nung, O? NATUPAD ba? Hindi diba? Consumers din bandang huli....

"Telecommuting". Actually this is a possible solution for some people depending on their type of work. Unfortunately certain things do require physical presence in the office. Usually telecommuting works well in the IT industry.

Yeah right OB, save money by buying an expensive condo unit where you work. Just like you can save money on replacing one fuel guzzling CRV by buying TWO new SUVs.

I don't believe the US Election has anything to do with the world oil prices. It is a matter of supply and demand. If the US elects a new President with a good energy policy, it will be the US, first and foremost, who will reap the benefits before anyone else.

You have to factor in the hundreds of thousand of Pinoy OFW and migrants who moved outside of the country to earn a bigger pay. Those people who are considered marginalized while in the Philippines (and now Dollar/Euro earners), are now capable of buying their love ones back home a car of their dreams. That is the reason why you see an increasing number of cars starting from three decades back or so.
