Question lang: why are there no diesel powered motorcycles? This should be ok for tricycles because of the torque, fuel economy and durability. Possibly a lot less polluting pa.![]()

Hindi kasi suited ang diesels to low displacement applications. But it is possible.

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
nuon pa meron na yatang diesel powered motorcycle kaya lang hinde naging successful...actually madami na..read an article on it once.
the US military is using a kawasaki modified to use diesel...mahirap kasi i-store ang gasoline at problema ang logistics kung iba-iba ang fuel ng combat vehicles...all combat land vehicles of US military run on diesel yata.
Diesel Rules!
It's packed with more power that gasoline.
It's running the biggest machineries in the world.
It's now 'mature and tamed' for motor vehicles.
'It runs the world'.

The story goes like this: Setting parang sa Pinas pero foreign film. No transport big enough to bring all the kids to the other side of the island. But there was a rundown and stuck up military truck. And there was no diesel fuel.
Some of the soldiers were able to fix the ten wheeler military truck. Still no fuel for the truck untill they realized that there where thousands of coconut trees to get oil to make cocodiesel.
As a young kid i like this movie so much.

Back in 26th of July 2003 I wrote a small article on diesel powered motorcycles in the Armed Forces (UK & US) {link}. There are lots of good reasons to have a powerful motorcycle that can run diesel for the army, but that equally applies to civilian applications & use.
Obviously, the cost of running a diesel motorcycle would be lower that a normal one, but more important, a civilian version of the Military spec Kawasaki KLR 650-M1030M1 would be great for all those adventurer riders, passing through countries were unleaded fuel is unheard off, and were you'd be lucky to have diesel fuel available.
What better motorcycle would there be if you could have one that is a proven battle horse (no pun intended) like the Kawasaki KLR 650 AND runs diesel (and JP5 aviation fuel).... Well this might all become reality shortly thanks to F1 Engineering.
This engineering company produces the above diesel powered KLR motorcycle, and is looking to see if there's a market for a civilian one. It would seem that they are getting ready to produce one.
So if you're interested in a diesel powered motorcycle, visit F1 Engineering's web site.

The M1A1/A2 has a gas turbine engine (similar to most helicopters) that can use diesel (multi-fuel). But to simplify logistics, the US Army uses JP-8 jet fuel.

i just read this thread and reminds me about diesel-fuel motorcycles. may surplus supplier na nagdisplay nito dito sa davao. yup, yong kawasaki 650. di ko lang alam kung nabenta ba. people were really curious to take a closer look coz even me, never in my life ive ever seen one. malaking motor ito, motorcross type. medyo may kamahalan ng kunti kahit surplus. last time ive seen it on display was last christmas 06. FC daw noon, almost the same with gas-fed bikes. kaya siguro konti lang na produce nito, kasi, UK- based company daw ang gumagawa. eh, sa UK, mas mahal ang diesel kaysa gas.
