May I ask kung ok lang ba yung Bio Diesel direct from the pump ng Biodiesel?
My Car is 97 Hilander.. Whats best for my baby ba?
You can buy 1% BioDiesel blended "from the pump" in Flying V gas stations. They should be OK but I prefer mixing my own.
You can save more and safer by starting your car with only a 2% blend mixed with 20 liters of diesel (instead of 20% & one full tank as recommended in the BioActiv bottle.) Best you begin with an almost empty tank.
Thereafter, mix 0.5% (instead of 1% as recommended also in the bottle). Get fuel-mileage before using BioDiesel and when using BioDiesel. Compare results and post-it so we know how you fared.

Hi to everyone. Your posts in this thread are very informative indeed.

My ride is a 95 Pajero and I would like to try and start using Biodiesel. I have seen 2 brands being sold by Petron Gas station (Flying V is far from my place). The green one which name I cannot recall retails for P85/500ml while the Estrol which is made by Senbel cost only P100/1 Li. I'd like to know which of them is better? Does higher price equates better quality? Thanks.

You can use either bro. Both are BD100 and within the PNS specs for CME.

Many thanks, Garyq. I'll try using Estrol first.

    Hi roadrunner730

Generally, there is no expiration for biodiesel.

Although, most manufacturers recommend that you use an open container within a year of opening.

    Hope this helps.

Kerosene is actually a type of diesel -- so you can mix it with diesel.

It is also known as Diesel No.1. Not because its the best but because it has the least sulphur content. That's why it is preferred for jet engines. Kasi no sulphur = no corrosion.

In the USA, Low Sulphur Diesel or LSD (which is basically Kerosene) is being promoted because SO2 -- in addition to being corrosive is a toxic GHG gas.

But, sulphur in diesel is needed because it provides lubrication for the fuel injection pump & injectors. If you use pure kerosene instead of diesel, expect these components to wear-out and break-down fast.

For this reason, any BioDiesel with its excellent lubricity even in low percentages is being considered as an additive to LSD.

I find these links more userfriendly:

Why buy biodiesel???... when you can make your own!

Yes, the "Journey to Forever" biodiesel-making instructions are very good. I used them to make my own biodiesel before.

But making biodiesel locally can be EXPENSIVE. Unlike other countries, where "used oil" is FREE or where stores like McDonalds pay to dispose their "used oil", we have to BUY "used oil" here. You might even have to buy higher or compete with wholesalers who resell it for animal feeds. Needless to say, new oil is EXPENSIVE.

Besides, all diesel to be sold will soon be pre-blended with 1% CME biodiesel whether we like it or not, whether car manufacturers warranties will continue or not, etc.

welcome to tsikot. i use biodiesel from bioexceed of seaoil to envirotek of flying v and now bioactive. maganda talaga ang epekto, primarily the improvement emission pero in your case IMO, wag muna, observe mo muna kung nagiging mausok man at since under warranty pa you can maximize your privelege to air your observation.

i suggest after the warranty tsaka mo gamitan ng biodiesel.

Greetings to all bioD users out there. Just a curious question, are you concerned that the Biofuel Act which mandates a 1% blend of CME to all diesels is somehow a tactic to slow down the growth of BioD advocates/promoters such as homebrewers/independent brewers?

Kasi isipin mo, kung pre-blended na, why buy from brewers or simply why clamor for more than 1%? This is almost implying na hanggang 1% na lang talaga ang blend unless ma-update ang law. Unless, ikaw mismo mag mix --- ang gagawa lang naman nito ay mga die hard CME users. What about the majority of diesel users who doesn't know or doesn't care?

1% is actually a great deal for the big oil companies kasi having a CME distributor that supplies them with CME for pre-mixing is just like allowing another independent distributor like SeaOil etc in the market. Loose change kumbaga. Wouldn't make a dent on their income. This leads me to believe that we will still be highly dependent on imported oil even after this law has been passed. And, this law is going to ensure that we will always be for a looong time. Alam nyo naman, kapag naging batas na, napakatagal na namang panahon ang aantayin natin na mabago yan! This is what is bothering me. If we are truly going to aspire for some sort of oil-independence, we shouldn't be contented with the Biofuel act. Let's aim for foreign-oil independence!

    Whatyathink?
