Kasi kahapon nagpa-fill ako sa petron, then nakita ko yung printed announcement nila na starting May 6 the bio fuel act will be implemented. I don't know sa Shell kung pre-blended narin.

kaya ako april 28 ang last blending ko ng 1% bioactive + diesoline ultra.

add'l. info. just called shell baler cor west ave. where i usually filled up
my xto.. good that the girl who answered is fully aware about the bio fuel act
and said that their diesoline ultra already contains 1% biodiesel.

i asked her saan galing ang biodiesel nila? galing daw sa used cooking oil hehe
anyway she also added na after 2 years gagawin nang 2% blend. ayos!

Along Aguinaldo highway, yung malapit po sa SM Baoor. Pero sa tingin ko nga hindi nya alam kung pre-blended o hindi kasi nung tinanong ko sya medyo hindi sya sigurado. Thanks for the confirmation BTW!

I asked my uncle who owns a caltex station. He said all diesel includes 1% bio diesel. Halo daw sa depot.

10% ethanol is what engines need. Not 20%. But the Ford Explorer can run 70% +.
It gives better performance, cleaner emissions, and better mileage.

correction, 10% is what unmodified engines will run on without long term damage happening.

You can get better performance, if the engine was modified to use it.

Cleaner (overall) emissions with ethanol if you also count the source of the fuel.

BUT ethanol give lower mileage than gasoline.

tanong sa never have tried until the implementation peeps...

did your vehicle consumption remains the same after the implementation?

while most peeps who are using bio-diesel ever since, claims it improved mileage...

our diesel vehicles seems having bad mileage lately...

though I'm not sure if it's because of the implementation. or just sabay bad timing lang sa weather...

and I hear fuel filter change schedule will be earlier.

Next year it will be 2% and all Gasoline fuel will be pre blended of 1% as far as Shell is concern.

Did you guys feel the difference? Ako I can feel it. After one full tank feel na feel ko ang enhance performance ng Innova ko.

filter change on BD: been using BD (at least B5 to B10) for more than 3 years now on several of our vehicles. I do normal change of filters. Nung una to be on the safe side I changed it after 2 full tanks and wala naman extra gunk yung filter. Did this on a 9 year old trooper, a 2 year old crosswing and a 10 year old 4BE1 elf. After that regular change lang ng fuel filter based on the PMS.

improved fuel consumption: the main reason why we should use BD is for the environment. If you approach it with this perspective mas maganda yung experience. On the side, some peeps report better fuel consumption which is good and also many studies show tumatagal yung life nung engine because of the better lubricity ng CME.

I believe BD has higher cetane but lower BTU, and hence will have lower fuel economy figures/more fuel consumption. The boone for biodiesel users is that it's safer to the environment, albeit with more fuel consumed. But if you think of it, the cleaner burning the fuel, pero ganun rin dahil offset siya ng more fuel consumed. Of course it's more lubricated rin, but are the pumps there already pumping out ULSD?

Bio-fuel act, implemented na ba?
