if yours is daily driven & not into racing, all brand will do, just follow what's recommended in your car's manual.
i'm using Petron Ultron Rallye (10w-40) semi-synthetic, every 7mos or 7K whichever comes first.

March 4th, 2011 04:33 PM #12What I suggest is to follow your cars recommended oil viscosity and changed it often.
Changing oil earlier than 5,000kms is better than buying expensive fully sythetic oils and maxing it to 10,000kms.
Do the math, it will sum-up with almost the same price....the point is that your engine oil is as fresh, new and clean as often as possible.
===================================
For my 2005 Altis 1.6E A/T, I used Shell Helix Plus 5w-40 Semi-synthetic * Php 320/liter x 4 = Php 1,280 and change oil every 2 months regardless if its 5,000kms or not. Usually my 2 months worth of travel is equal to 4,000kms.
If you use a Fully-Synthetic oil * Php 700/liter x 4 = Php 2,800.
So to comare:
==================
---- Semi-Synthetic = Php 1,680 / 4liters x 6 (5,000kms every 2months) = Php 7,680 cost of oil per year
---- Full-Synthetic = Php 2,800 / 4liters x 6 (5,000kms every 2months) = Php 16,800 cost of oil per year
Just add the cost of the oil filter and labor...

Don't know if you can get this there yet but Rotella T6 full synthetic is probably one of the best new oils out there. Many turbo diesel owners are switching to it due to is sever duty performance and additives.
