My solution: I just run on gasoline once a week. And I don't just putter around, I floor the accelerator pedal when the traffic is light.

My main problem is gasoline getting stale in the tank. I had nearly half a tank of Shell E10 unleaded that went stale. I had to dispose of it and replaced with Petron XCS.
I see that it will be better if I use pure gas occasionally. Do you also switch to and from gas before and after starting the engine or do you use lpg only for regular use?

I also encountered getting stale gas in the tank. Most of the time, I would fill up P500 non-E10 fuel and this would normally last me around 1-1.5 months.

Mine was also mid 2008 installed and use gasoline mode once a week.

Sometimes when the traffic is light I switch to gasoline on high speed driving.

Been filling my LPG on XOOM Autogas Timog and Total North Fairview.

I just start up on LPG when I don't plan to use gasoline that day.

Just wanted to share my own experience, since stale gas was my biggest problem 3 years ago. Not only that, my fuel pump eventually gave up with a perforated membrane and for lack of use. 6 months down the road I just gave up completely and disconnected the petrol supply to the carb and used LPG exclusively.

The switch allowed me to optimize ignition advance (increased advance early in the curve) yielding better performance. I have been using LPG exclusively since then and have had trouble free performance for a good 2.5 years with little more than regular maintenance.

I plan to remove the gasoline tank altogether and move the LPG tank into the void to regain more trunk space. Just haven't had time to do this due to constant daily use. I travel to Batangas City regularly to visit relatives in Calapan Mindoro and travel around Manila daily. I haven't missed going to a gas station at all.

If you don't really need the bi-fuel installation, why bother?

    cheers,

    steve

almost all of our taxis have this same setup except for the sentra 07 with sgi kit installed.

that's the thing that pisses me off. a lot of our drivers lean out the a/f mix of the LPG which inturn causes overheat related problems.

sure they may be saving that way but it's a maintainance nightmare for some engines that may already have begun to give out.

They're the only LPG station in the area... medyo mahirap sila sa supply because of that.

There are times when they've run out of certain blends of gasoline, too. Popular station.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

My car had a top overhaul 3 weeks ago and I've been running it with gas instead. No adjustments were done to the venturi kit when the cylinder head was dismantled. Whenever I switch to LPG, my engine runs erratic. Yung idling niya babagsak tapos biglang mamamatay nalang. I tried cleaning the air filter pero ganon pa din. Thinking of adjusting the idling from the valves in the vaporizer. Any of you guys experienced this?

I would believe that there should not be much problems; although the Altis i use is a 1.6, it is related to the 1.8L engine and the set-up has been really problem-free; problems encountered (idling drop mainly) was fixed with some basi tuning.

ayaw po ba mag steady ng idle pero when you try to switch at high speed ok? then pag binitiwan mo yung accelerator mag ddrop ulit ang idle hanggang mamatay ang makina? pag ganito po ang na experience niyo, you might need to bring it back to the lpg shop.yung sa akin 2 times na binaklas para ayusin.

napansin ko lang pag nag try ko i adjust yung idle screw dito na mag sstart ang problema, kaya yung sa akin from the time of last lpg service sept 09 until now smooth pa rin. air filter at spark plug lang ang pinapalitan ko. yung vaporiser hinde ko ginagalaw.

Yes, this is exactly what I am experiencing. Kaya minsan pag long stretches of open road, dun lang ako gumagamit ng lpg. Otherwise, gas lang ako pag stop and go traffic. Hirap din kasi irestart pag namatayan.

I brought it to the lpg installer to have it diagnosed. Sabi sakin hindi na daw ma-adjust yung idle ko since sagad na. I need to have my idling on gas increased because it's too low. So I immediately brought it to a reputable shop and had my idling checked. According to the mechanic, it is running fine on gas and requires no adjustment.

My car runs fine and problem free on gas but when switched to lpg, my rpm won't stay put. It traverses anywhere from 500 - 800 rpm. On gas, it is steady at 650-700 rpm with fluctuations to 800 rpm when the fan activates.

Ano ang binaklas sayo? Yung vaporizer?

anyways sa GF binaklas yung vaparizer ko, may mga special hex screw sa palibot nito, as in baklas talaga. the idle screw is connected to a metal lever inside the vaporizer which tends to bend over time kaya maski na i adjust mo yung idle screw wala ng response.

tinuwid lang ito using a small hammer, a pliers hanggang visually straight na siya ulit, yung bend nasa 1 or 2 degrees lang naman. pag balik tsaka in adjust yung idle at umayos na.

in case na mangyari ulet sa akin ito i know what to do, madali lang baklasin basta dahil wala naman special procedure sa pagbaklas nito. the tricky part is re adjusting the idle kaya ill make sure na hinde ko magagalaw ang screw pag baklas.

hopefully ganyan din ang prob ng kit niyo kasi sabi sa gf pag yung diaphram ang nasira mas mahal.

dalhin niyo na sa installer niyo.
