October 29th, 2008 12:29 PM #2851sharing some info after my PMS:
- one of the plugs are abit oily
- air filters are oily
- failed emission test (a week ago)
Im worried bout the oily plugs and air filters. Is it because of oil contaminants from dirty LPGs? or engine problem? Ive done some research and oily air filters could be caused by PCV. anyone familiar with PCVs?
I brought my xtrail to Greenfuel for tune up. Need to observe and check again my air filters and plugs... sana wag engine/loose compression problem..

PCV is possible... but it ccould be your LPG.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I have experienced oily LPG contamination, but it only affects the spark plugs having black deposits and it does not affect the air filter. If LPG oily contamination all plugs will be affected and not only one, since all LPG injectors draw fuel from a single LPG rail (Valtek from GreenFuel).
It might be PCV or one of your cylinder has blown/loose valve seal.

October 30th, 2008 12:05 AM #2854Question:
How much peso do I save for every liter of LPG?
From my estimates, every car has its own answer with said question. As for a 2004 Outlander. Here is my answer:
GIVEN:
Unleaded E10 Fuel Consumption: 7.10 KM/L
Unleaded E10 Peso per KM: 7.5 P/KM
Price of E10 Unleaded: 45.72 Peso/Liter (as of 26 October)
LPG Fuel Consumption: 5.55 KM/L
LPG Peso per Kilometer: 5.75 P/KM
Price of LPG: 30.20 Peso/Liter (as of 26 October)
SOLUTION:
Compute for the Total Price per liter of LPG
1. Get KM/L difference of E10 and LPG
7.10 - 5.55 = 1.55 KM/L = KM/L difference
2. Using Ratio and Proportion: Get the Price of the P/L difference:
KM/L KM/L 5.55 1.55
____ = ____ = ____ = ____ = 8.43 P/L = Difference P/L
P/L P/L 30.20 ?
3. Get total price of LPG = LPG P/L + Difference P/L
= 30.20 + 8.43 P/L = 38.63 P/L
4. ANSWER: Get the difference between E10 P/L and No.3
= 45.72 - 38.63 =7.09 Peso/L
Currently, I save 7.09 pesos for every liter of gasoline.

October 31st, 2008 04:59 PM #2855mas maganda kung per kilometer driven
P45.72/7.10km=6.44pesos/km pag gas
P30.20/5.55km=5.44pesos/km pag lpg
in essence for every kilometer driven, P1 ang nasave mo, so kung 50km ang travel mo per day P50-ang savings mo a day.
kung 10 km ka lang a day, P10 lang ang savings mo not worth it.

October 31st, 2008 05:02 PM #2856Question lang sa long time users ng LPG:
baket pag sa TOTAL ako mag load ng LPG umaabot ako ng 39-40 liters, pag sa Petron ako mag load 32liters lang tops.
edit:
parehong from empty, as in ayaw ng umandar ng kotse unless gasolina ang gagamitin

not really worth it kung 10km (ave) ang tinatakbo mo everyday. more benefits pag ave mo is 50km and above. tsaka hinde nag roroll back ang lpg natin
my experience sa total alabang until 36 li, sa cleanfuel 29-30 lang for a 40li donut tank. hinde naman ako lugi kasi kino compute ko based sa cut off pressure per station. try niyo i monitor on a week basis per station para more or less you get the same amount of lpg, then compare the mileage.

November 1st, 2008 03:56 PM #2860hi anybody,
i'm thinking about converting my ford escape 4x4 v6 engine to lpg and have been reading the previous posts regarding greenfuel and denso, open and closed loop...and have just gotten overwhelmed. Can anybody recommend the best lpg kit for a ford escape, where and at what price range? how long will it be until i see a return in the investment considering that fuel prices have gone down? help!
Ford kasi... it needs a lot of TLC. ;) Kidding aside, I don't know if other turbo vehicles have...
