I think I'm nearing the end of my quest. Just a few questions pa:

    1. My car doesn't have an oxygen sensor, so Greenfuel said that after installing an SGI system, they have to have the engine tuned at Speedlabs. After this tuning, will I now be able to maximize the benefits of an SGI system?

    2. Eroom offers a venturi mixer system with a computer box. I understand that this box will regulate the flow of the fuel. With this box, will this now approximate the benefits of an SGI system? (power and FC?)

    3. Has anyone tried both Eroom and Greenfuel's SGI? what are the benefits of one over the other? TIA

No, it just means it will run smoothly and well based on the conditions when it was tuned. Change the air pressure (like drive to Baguio) or have a very dirty air filter and the SGI system will not be able to adjust to the new conditions.

Example: if during tuning, your air filter is dirty, the LPG system will be tuned to operate with the dirty filter. Change it with a fresh filter, your engine might end up running leaner than intended.

Somewhat, but only at the low to medium range RPMs. At higher RPMs, the air intake restriction of the venturi itself will be more pronounced and bigger HP losses will happen. SGI system's advantage is that there is no air flow restriction to the cylinders.

I think that has been answered many times before where the SGI-LPG system was compared to the closed loop Venturi Mixer LPG system.

I have the EROOM kit installed. It's a closed loop system, but still based on the venturi mixer kit. The computer box or ECU is mainly for diagnostics only. It makes it easier to tune the LPG systems, since the parameters are read through the ECU. However, adjustments to air and fuel will still require manual turning of knobs and screws.

The closed loop system is somewhere in between the open loop kit with emulator, and the SGI kit. So the kit's efficiency is better than other open loop kits. Siguro EROOM might approximate an SGI kit installed in open-loop setup (e.g. installing an SGI kit to a car w/o O2 sensor). A good tuning session should be the optimize potentials, regardless of kit you have.

These differences are small for the average driver. Benefits of these kits are realized mostly during higher RPM ranges. So kung puro city driving ka lang na stop-and-go, kahit open loop kit, ok na. Pero kung puro long distance highway driving ka, better ang SGI.

pre, why not try giving the listed auto-lpg installers a call to find out? At least you will get the latest news regarding if they accept credit cards or not.

But for now, I think SPEEDLAB accepts credit cards. They offer GREENFUEL auto-LPG kits.

Any ideas on the pricing for your SGI kits? Assuming its for a basic 4 cylinder 1.6L EFI car.

Hmmm, the offer's getting tempting as ever. We have two shops that can take our credit cards!

I wonder if Speedlab can offer BOTH the conversion and the tuning jobs as a package deal.

I tend to change my motor oil every 5000km. My oil looks smooth. As for the color, it's still black.
