    Just a chemistry random thought..

100% Liquid LPG requires a certain minimum pressure to keep 100% liquid. Only a gas can change density according to temperature and pressure.

Auto-LPG pumps feed liquid LPG and not a mix of liquid and gaseous LPG.

You have to consider Niky is on the extreme side of the "motoring" public where performance is a priority and his mods on his car shows it (along with the hefty bill at Speedlab). For the majority, as long as the engine runs well, no power loss, the system is dependable in the long run and saves money because of the cheaper price of fuel (lpg), that would be good enough.
sorry about that... didn't know that sir Niky and I are at the opposite ends of the spectrum... (newbie here)

well hopefully, i'll have the chance and time to have my stock 4AFE engine transplated someday...

anyway, thanks again for the inputs sirs ghosthunter and Niky... i have something to think about till Saturday... i'm leaning towards SGI again.

Depends on your intentions with the car and the car's general condition.

    2. Any experience regarding these brands above? or other brands?
    none except NAIADSS in mandaluyong.

    3. What do you really mean by "gasoline feel" for LPG driving?
It means you cannot tell if your engine is running on gasoline or LPG. Sometimes, especially with venturi systems, they are tuned to maximize savings which results in slow acceleration and potential rough running at higher RPMs.

    4. What is it that one should look at to know the LPG needs more power tuning?
The cheap way is to basically switch back and forth between gasoline and LPG and see if there is a difference when the car accelerates from a stop to a set speed.

The expensive way is to pay for some dyno tuning time.

    5. Why is it that the techs seem to be reluctant to give more power mix?
Because many people complain that their converted car guzzles LPG. Also over-rich mixtures results in a very stinky exhaust smell.

    6. Is there any FAQ out there? some blog or website of Philippine LPG experience?
From what I know, you are reading it.

Er... I hope your car's engine is an EFI engine because you cannot install a SGI LPG kit on a carburated engine.

+1. If that's an SGI system, your injector overboost isn't coming online. If it's a Venturi, it's tuned too lean.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

i'm running lean? which means.. ipit ung LPG right? we'll as long as i'm getting good mileage. i think i can live with not going over 3k rpm.. di kaya nakakasira ng makina pag lean ung mixture ko?

Just be careful of long term engine damage when an engine is set to running lean.

    FC update lang...

    car: 2002 mitsu adventure supersport
    LPG kit: close-loop by EROOM
mileage covered: 275kms (QC area and QC-batangas city back & forth via SLEX & startollway)
LPG consumed: 33.6 L (P1042 worth of autoLPG at cleanfuel P31/L) from the last full tank to the next full tank * Cleanfuel
ave. FC: 8.18 km/L (city & highway combined)
    Max Speed: 140kph

based on computations (assuming that the FC is the same), if i were to use unleaded on that trip, it would cost me about P1948.80 vs P1042 on LPG...a whooping P906 (46.51%) savings...

I think I'm nearing the end of my quest. Just a few questions pa:

    1. My car doesn't have an oxygen sensor, so Greenfuel said that after installing an SGI system, they have to have the engine tuned at Speedlabs. After this tuning, will I now be able to maximize the benefits of an SGI system?

    2. Eroom offers a venturi mixer system with a computer box. I understand that this box will regulate the flow of the fuel. With this box, will this now approximate the benefits of an SGI system? (power and FC?)

    3. Has anyone tried both Eroom and Greenfuel's SGI? what are the benefits of one over the other? TIA

I tend to change my motor oil every 5000km. My oil looks smooth. As for the color, it's still black.

No, it just means it will run smoothly and well based on the conditions when it was tuned. Change the air pressure (like drive to Baguio) or have a very dirty air filter and the SGI system will not be able to adjust to the new conditions.

Example: if during tuning, your air filter is dirty, the LPG system will be tuned to operate with the dirty filter. Change it with a fresh filter, your engine might end up running leaner than intended.

Somewhat, but only at the low to medium range RPMs. At higher RPMs, the air intake restriction of the venturi itself will be more pronounced and bigger HP losses will happen. SGI system's advantage is that there is no air flow restriction to the cylinders.

    3. Has anyone tried both Eroom and Greenfuel's SGI? what are the benefits of one over the other? TIA
I think that has been answered many times before where the SGI-LPG system was compared to the closed loop Venturi Mixer LPG system.

pre, why not try giving the listed auto-lpg installers a call to find out? At least you will get the latest news regarding if they accept credit cards or not.

But for now, I think SPEEDLAB accepts credit cards. They offer GREENFUEL auto-LPG kits.
