Im on the lookout for a used Mazda Familia 98/99 GLXi or a 97 Mazdaspeed. Currently, isa pa lang ung gusto ko kaso asa 111,000 km na ung ODO. I will be meeting the owner this Sat pa lang.
Worry ko lang if asa 111,000 na ung unit. For sure dapat napalitan na ung dapat palitan, if nde pa. Naku sakit sa ulo nun. If ever naman nde pa, for sure pwede pa babaan ung price.
Ngayon po, anong mileage nyo nakuwa ung kotse nyo? For second hand owners? Ano ano pa nangyare sa inyo before you got it on tip top shape? Or before you bought it, pina ayos nyo na muna sa owner?
Thanks

100k for a at-that-time 10 year old car.
so far spent 100k (pesos) on maintenance. :P
depends din kasi on the brand. mazda yung sa akin. mazda is not as reliable as toyota or honda. pero the 323 should be cheaper to maintain. siguro yung 111k na yung mileage ng 323 na yan mga 50k minimum ang gagastusin mo to fix it.
things to replace offhand:
1) timing belt, tensioner and idler bearings
2) clutch parts (both internal and external, i.e. clutch master, slave)
3) water pump
4) entire suspension
5) other belts
6) the alternator and AC compressor are probably on the way out
7) power steering pump may need a repair kit
8) the power window motors will probably die soon
9) your brakes will soon be going.. calipers are expensive, also the brake master might be leaky or require repair
it's not the car per se, it's the mileage. mataas na mileage equals lots of expenditures. can't avoid that.Last edited by orly_andico; June 1st, 2006 at 11:21 AM.
