Beauty is in the eye of the beholder talaga. My 10-yr old Sorento still gets the question at the carwash: Sir, bago ba labas ito?

Anyway weird talaga sa akin yung G4 at Dzire. It has similar vibes sa 1st gen Prius. Kung naalala niyo yung FB game na "Car Town", thats what they look like to me.

Sumikat yung Starex nung 2000s kasi naging ride siya ng mga artista at politicians. Yung L300 meanwhile naging synonymous with backup ride (mga bodyguards, alalays, goons) or UV Express. So parang naging "Civic" yung Starex, hindi "pang-taxi".

this is so true... my Grand Carnival bought early 2021 seems aging quite good as well..
ako siguro yung tao na walang brand loyalty.
owned/driven car brands (previous & current)... toyota-honda-chevrolet-toyota-kia-ford. wala ni isa sa kanila ang perfect car. lahat meron silang pros/cons. ang paniniwala ko, my chosen car is not in any way better than other car brand/model. basta pasok sa mga requirements ko, i'll go for it.

    all cars brake down.
how we address these brake-downs, may differ between individuals.
while some may just go fix it as it comes and be done with it, as a matter of car ownership,
others may procrastinate and collect more defects, then raise high water because it's gonna cost them an arm and a leg to fix them all problems in one swoop.

but i do (just like everyone else) favor cars that do not break down much... the so-called "boring ownership" cars.

just look at any 1st or 2nd Gen Tucson... parang ang luma na kapag nasa road.

Remember the Kia Stonic? - weird na tignan sa kalsada...

    .

Speaking of design, can't stand the rear of the Ertiga. The design is not cohesive and lacks symmetry.

subjective talaga. for me the stonic still looks ok especially the ones with updated KIA logo. even the ertiga looks ok to me, looks even better w/ the xl7 gloss black part

a few months back i did consider getting a 1.5na 7-seater... particularly the stargazer 6seater (captain seats are nice) but ultimately decided that they're too underpowered and got a hatchback instead

Just trying to rationalize things here...

I agree with "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

The drawback of Korean cars being, there aren't really many fans of them outside of the owners who are already invested in the car. The reason they "look good" when new is because they're a pretty good interpretation of a motoring ideal.

Remember the Hyundai Genesis Coupe from around 2010? It looked good and sold well because it was a "two-door sports coupe", but these days resale values are way down because there are newer and better two-door sports coupes, and nobody was really attached to the Genesis Coupe in particular. The older Nissan 350Z now sells for significantly more, even Japanese converted RHD units.

I was about to mention this car... saw 1 kasi sa Greenhills this weekend with a Toyota 86 and Subraru BRZ... The Genesis really looked old beside the other 2 cars.

Also take into account that not everyone is into the "high resale value" thing. Some of us buy stuff to use and enjoy ourselves, not to save them for someone else's.

I agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but there are those with more universal appeal than others which cannot be denied. Take the case of the sleek lines of a classic Jag.

The 2010 Genesis Coupe is another example of a car that did not age well.

Screw the next owner. But the extra you get helps with the next purchase, tho.

Ahh, I see! I initially thought that "didn't age well" meant the car developed many functional issues later on.
Now I agree. I wonder how long it will take until the "futuristic" looks of the Stargazer and Staria seem old and funny.

sparring back in the year with kagalingan,
"ok lang kags. nasa loob naman ako at hindi ko nakikita kung gaano ka-pangit yung kotse ko. what is important to me, is how the car performs in serving my needs, i.e., it don't brake down much, and parts are easy and cheap."

a few weeks ago, i saw some mekanikos having difficulty removing a korean's rear light assembly. curious, because this is usually an easy task for my japanese car when i replace a busted bulb.
"sa koreano po, tumitigas ang goma, kaya mahirap hatakin."

Except for the ones that were deleted systematically, the posts are still available.

That he is. I remember Walter saying that Tsikot's traffic increased by 100% that time: 50%- Kags and 50%- Cathy's MMK series.
