WHY nissan cefiro WHY????

mga peeps,
im just wondering about nissan cefiros, particularly 97 mdls or even their late mdls. WHY is that their RESALE value is that low you can take home a 97 mdl as low as 250t or even lesser...(mahal pa ang corolla at civic) IMHO cefiros are good looking sedans, i dont know about their gas cosumption or maintenance... but quality wise ok naman cguro dahil japanese car ito... di ba infinity yan sa US, ganda naman ng feedback nyan sa US ah bkit dito parang bargain ang price or tama lang talaga ang depreciation ng sedan na 'to... ganda kasi nitong i set-up... just add bling blings....ummm hotie na ang dating.....

the second hard market prefers the more practical car... which means cars with good fuel milage, cheap maintenance, etc. Most 2.0L sedans have expensive & often hard to find parts and cannot match 1.6L cars in fuel milage.

From what I know, lakas lang sa gaso yan. However, It all makes up for a wonderful and comfortable ride. If I had extra money, I'd buy me one and would dress it up.

Lucky for the people interested in buying a second hand car, the Cefiro is a good choice and not hard on the wallet.

It's the Infiniti I30 in the U.S. (where it wears a 3.0l V6). Rebadge kits are available in Megamall but it only fits the very first model. Subsequent models took a styling direction more in tune with Asian tastes.

For some reason mababa talaga resale value ng nissan dito satin. Kaya nga mas ok dahil mas abot kaya ng 2nd hand shoppers eh.

dahil hindi kasi flashy like accord and camry.. simple look lang sya.. pero hindi alam ng iba na comfy ng ride and a nice engine pa.. easy to maintain.. kahit nga ako nag tatanong bakit ang baba resale value.. I love both cefiro and Camry

Both reasons are right. Midsized cars (2.0 - 3.0) in general have a lower resale value here compared to compacts (1.6-2.0) because maintenance is a bit more costly, fuel efficiency is lower, and parts cost more.

Plus, it's a Nissan. Nissans suffer from lower resale value than Honda and Toyota due to reliability issues, both real and rumored. All in all, it's a good deal for secondhand customers, as Nissans are generally good cars, and not as bad as their resale value suggests.

Cefiro user for more than a year. totoo na mura lang. best buy for me kasi mura na then sabihin na natin iba pa rin "dating" IMHO. tatay na tatay talaga dating. hehe. downside is GAS. potek. pero depende na rin sa apak sa gas. maintainance, so-so lang. dami naman parts sa banawe and may trusted mechanic ako dito batangas na pinag-aaralan na yung engine. engine power, hehe. sarap. isa pa, hirap pagandahin. duduguin ka sa paghahanap ng after-market parts. yun lang. so far, kuntento naman ako. share ko lang.

Nissan just failed to make their mark in our market. They may be worthy cars lately, but their lack of appeal is what makes them a notch below Honda and Toyota. Their cars look bland, and although they are loaded with features galore, what's in question is if they will still function properly after a few years.

Maybe if Nissan Philippines reverts to the US lineup and bring their cars here, there can be a twist in the market. US Nissans are so cool even a non-fan like me could buy one if given the chance.

nissan resales are low because of what happened to their cars in the late 80's and early 90's. Their Stanza's and california's where practically falling apart. a Friend of mine had a stanza that kept having problems weekly. this gave nissan a bad rep that still haunts it till this day. that friend of mine still wouldn't buy a brand new nissan even if the quality of nissan has gone way way better.

Maintenance? The nearby gas station does that. hehehe. Just have to buy the filter from the dealer (~Php500.00). Luma din kasi MB namin (range '77-'87) so shadetree mechanic at DIY na din ang maintenance.

Parts are available from the dealer, online (may sticky sa www.volvospeed.com kung saan ok umorder ng parts). Locally, HABREC is the third-party part supplier and service provider for Volvos and other Euro sedans.

850 over Cefiro? Iba pa din kasi ang charm ng Euro sedan. Iba yung character at personality. Prolly 850 pa din since I have a Japanese daily driver already.

tingin ko hindi lang naman nissan cefiro nag-suffer ng ganyan, pati accord din. kung nun bnew, around 300k-400k pagitan ng civic & accord, pag 2nd hand na less than 100k na lang difference.

imho, it's not wise to buy bigger cars today. kung compact car ka, next upgrade should be compact SUV. sad to say yan ang mentality ng publiko.

Very unlikely since the owner of NMPI is Yulon, making way for the Taiwan spec and parts. The JDM market version specs of the 1990s were much better then the 2000 and up Taiwan-spec versions in quality.

The cost of the 2.0 sedans like the old Accord and Cefiro cost ajust as much or even lower then the 1.6 sedans of the same year and fuel prices have a big factor to this.

Our a/t Cefiro Elite did around 6.5 to 7 in the city... this was with an easy gas foot.
