If you want to own it for a long period of time, you'll have less concerns with the Nissan Urvan. Great engine reliability (backed up with reputable diesel engines carrying the Nissan badge).

November 8th, 2007 10:41 PM #14my in laws own a hi ace 2.4 commuter pero old model na, im not sure kung 1999 or 2000 pero hands down ako sa power kahit 2.4 lang, mga 12 kami papuntang baguio, 2nd gear lang kennon naka aircon pa, super tipid din sabi nung driver nila, talo pa nga daw ang urvan sa akyatan ayon sa kanya. grabe din kasi magpatakbo yon, di nabibitin yong makina.

Yes, talo ng Hiace Commuter 2.4 diesel and Urvan sa akyatan. Kahit TD27 or TD25 pa ang Urvan. It's because of the transmission. Pero kung long tern Van ang pag uusapan, di kaya talunin ng Hiace ang Urvan in all aspect, engine, underchasis parts, brake system, comfort and airconditioning. Hindi din totoo na mas mahal i-maintain ang Urvan compare to Hiace. Mas mahal pa nga i-maintain ang Hi ace dahil mas sikat ang pangalan na Toyota.
Getting a toyota would be ideal mostly for those looking for practicality or one who will use it...
