Hi all, newly registered long time lurker. Well I got a question I think is weird anyway here goes.

Kasi I think mawawala ang context if I do it.

My company is offering us an auto loan (600k, 0% interest for 5 years). Catch syempre is I got a 5 year bond or I end up paying the remaining interest via repricing sa bank... I think it's a good deal overall and gus2 ko itake. Sobra dyan, pwed ko idownpayment, so far wla tong deadline.

I have 300k extra cash I can use to upgrade my purchase now and I can save ~3-400k in a year or so if I change my spendings/savings a bit.

Problem/Dilemma ko is hindi ko gus2 ung Vios, somehow mas nagagandahan ako sa Elantra kesa sa Accent (Weird I know...). So I'm shooting for Altis, Elantra, etc. Pero at ~900k sobra n ako malapit sa SUV at ~1-1.2m and I prob will be able to knock 100k off the Montero(50% down e) as the top choice for me.

So I'm torn. Should I get a car now (mid-range sedan) or save up for a year or so for an SUV/CUV(shooting for the Montera, pero pwede nadin mag land sa Escape, Sportage, Tucson, etc.) or something else? Don't want an A/MPV.

I really wanted an SUV, mostly dahil sa higher ground clearance at gus2 ko tlga ng big(ger) ride.

So kung ikaw ako, ano gagawin mo? Bakit? Sorry gus2 ko ung bakit because I'm looking for ideas.

    Requirements ko:
    1.) Automatic.
2.) Pang matagalan. (~15yrs or until laspag na ung kotse at ndi na worth imaintain)
    4.) Ride comfort
5.) Power. May Mazda3 kc friend ko (2008/9 model I think) At nagrereklamo cya (joke type, pero alam mo na) na mabigat at nahihirapan daw kotse nya pag more than 2 people ang nakasakay. So I want something na ndi bitin, not racecar power, pero something good enough for city and occasional outdoor driving. Kaya I'm looking for >1.6l.
    6.) Ground Clearance
    7.) Others
8.) Fuel Consumption. Basically, I don't think worth it ang ~2km more per liter in the grand scheme of things. So I don't think worth considering ang 1 kotse just because it can do 15km/l vs the car that can only do 10km/l
8.) Resale value. Lalaspagin ko ung kotse. Anong resale?

I'm looking for brand new btw. I'm keeping this car for the long haul. So I prefer na ako 1st owner. At iwas sakit ng ulo nadin on what ifs pag ako 1st owner.

I'm taking public transport to and from the office at the moment. Pero the more I think about the car, the more na naiirita ako sa public transport (hindi ko sinasabing natutuwa ako before ioffer ng company samin ung auto loan). So I can shave ~3hrs sa byahe(to and from) pag magkotse ako at the price of 2 taxi rides a day (Kasama na parking at 800 per month saved that goes to maintenance dyan). Kaya I'm seriously thinking about a car. Pero stuck ako between ipon and get an upgraded ride or get 1 now.

    Any help welcome. Thanks =)

Basta ba you're not spending beyond your means by purchasing the Montero, edi go for it. The cheapest AT Montero costs 1.3M. Malayo yan sa 958k ng Elantra.

SUV talaga. kumbaga all in 1 na. save and get montero. higante sasakay e pasok lahat ng requirements mo dito, walang mintis. non-vgt A/T. masasayang lang pag sedan kukunin mo kasi maraming kang requirements na hindi makukuha like ground clearance, maluwag cabin, at baka puno ang sakay, tagilid na ang sasakyan. konting tiis lang sa commute

Mag save ka muna for the car that you want. Hehe ako din ganyan we have the same dilemma pero sedan lang kukunin ko and gusto ko malake lake maipon ko para hindi mabigat if ever mag monthly ako or better yet magsave para may pang cash diba

Get the Montero kung yan talaga gusto mo.

(Or lumabas na?)

Kung now na, ok yung Elantra at Altis. I'm not sure lang kung tatagal ng 15 years yung Elantra.

Best advise is mag wait ka muna ng 1 taon or AUV ang kunin mo.

Tsk okay talaga porma ng mga korean cars ngayon pero IMO may reliability issues padin ata though I know they have improved na. Saka ang mahal eh for its class I'd rather get the Ford Escape :D
