Hi everyone! Was able to read a lot of threads since I'm planning to buy a brand new car. I figure why not personally ask the opinion of people here.

I'm planning to get my first car (new driver here -less than 6 months pa lang ako nagddrive ng old MT car ng dad ko) I'm actually super undecided between Vios 1.3G AT and City 1.3 AT. Mas gusto ko sana AT kasi QC to Makati ako everyday and I intend to have it borrowed to my mom or little brother in cases na hindi ko dadalhin sa work yung auto.

Here's the best deal I got from the dealers I spoke with
    CITY - 786K (less 40k discount) = 746K
    Free LTO and usual freebies

    VIOS - 746K (less 80k discount) = 666k
    Free LTO and usual freebies

Malaki na binigay na discount sakin sa Vios since they'll gonna change model-series na daw this June and nagkakaubusan na ng stocks kasi di na nagmamanufacture. Naisip ko to take advantage of the huge discount and price difference from the city. On the other hand naman parang by several months from now obsolete-looking na yung kabibili ko lang na kotse. So there goes the City option. Interior and Exterior mas maporma. Thing is I'm really indifferent and di ko talaga alam ano pipiliin ko! Worth it ba yung 80k price difference? Worth it din ba yung 80k savings considering change model na? Or just wait for the new Vios series by July para at par na si Vios and City by then.

Given all aspects, I'm really indifferent! I just want the worth of my hard-earned money be maximized. I do hope I can be enlightened with your opinions and advices! Thanks!

    Wala.

Intayin mo nalang, but then, we don't know kung magugustuhan mo siya or if ganun pa rin presyo niya.

City, masyado mahal for its package.

My suggestion: Accent 1.6AT CRDi Hatchback

Tipid sobra at mabilis. Sabi nila ~12-13km/L kahit traffic. What more can you ask for? Hehe. Mukhang willing ka naman to spend on something basta under 800k so why not get something that's more fun. ;)

If you really need the car, go for the city/vios.

I own a vios and I always take a ride with a city, too. Mas refined yung pakiramdam ko pag nasa city ako, although as a passenger lang.

Ang tradeoff lang diyan, what if may issues yung bagong model?

Actually naisip ko nga din na what if may issues yung new Vios. I'm just gonna be their guinea pig. I also heard na magpapalit na si City next year ng Series (5th year) lalo tuloy ako naguluhan!

Re Accent hindi ba madaming issues yun? Plus the re-sale value is not the same as Vios and City. Pero The Accent Hatchback is my third choice actually!

Doesn't mean it's a Toyota, it's gonna equate to reliability.

Remember when the 2.5 D4D engines were first released? Ano meron.. puro problema! Choking, stalling, black smoke etc. etc. Though Toyota handled it properly, sakit pa rin sa ulo nun for the "guinea pigs" ika nga.

The Accent, being a diesel, doesn't have problems. Forte kasi ng Hyundai ang diesel. Yung Accent gas ang may problema such as low power, poor FC etc.

I'm not saying the new Vios will have a problem. Who knows, baka yung engine niya 2NZ and 1NZFE pa rin kasi matagal na rin naman yung makina na yun, since late 90s pa ata so it will be a reliable car ulet. What I'm saying is, wag muna panigurado. Before buying a newly released car, hayaan mo munang mag-settle siya mga 1-2 months.

Ang laki na ng price difference for the Accent-Hatchback. Medyo out of my budget na ata ang 850k+.

Right now I'm justifying should I be getting the soon-to-be-old Vios for a discount or the city na medyo pricey for its package. But if I'm going to wait for the next Vios medyo 3Q pa ako dapat kumuha. I heard also wala ng 1.3 si Vios sa next series. 1.4 and 1.6 na daw.

    Under 800k yung 6-speed MT. ;)

If that's true, then the engines will be new.

Kinalaban ng Toyota pala yung Rio & Accent. 1.4 & 1.6L na rin displacement nila.

If may budget ka go for the accent HB na diesel, also why not check out Kia Rio HB dn it won the red dot design awad so sa looks talagang okay.
