Peace and all good from above!!

    Budget is P350,000
    CRV 2003 (maybe AT)
and adventure same year model or higher kung ano papasok sa budget...

will really appreciate your comments and opinions... salamat po....

If i were you, since you only go home once a year and your car will be left at the care of kamag-anak who will definitely be using the car (and drive it to the ground? ); better to put off your plans to purchase and just rent a car whenever you're in town. Parang sayang lang din yung 350K for something you wont use much, will be putting money out to maintain, and will depreciate.

If you must, get an Adventure over the CR-V as this will be generally easier to maintain and repair. It's also a more legitimate 7-seater as compared to the CR-V which is really just a 5-seater.

Yes, it's really a 5-seater. Honda just redesigned to accommodate 7 people to skirt some previous tax issues (thus classifying that CR-V model as a AUV). You may also want to check out the 2001-2003 Starex models if you want something with more space and comfort.

If you get the Honda, tuwang tuwa yung relatives mo nyan... japorms sila sa gimmik. :D

Meron 8-seater yung 2003 CRV but it wont be as much as comfortable as let's say, a RAV4.

It guzzles fuel, too. Almost at par with the 3.0L V6 Escape

I'd go with the Adventure, pero, ayaw niyo ng mas classy na Revo VX240D ? It has headrest monitors and definitely looks better than the Adventure.

Pwede rin yung suggestion sa taas, buy a 2nd hand Expedition. Drinks A LOT of fuel, yes. But big enough and it's really comfortable. Cheapest you can get, iirc, is around 450-500k though. But then, it's an Expedition.

Well, yeah that is true but if you factor in costs, how much is it to rent a car with driver for a week or two in a year versus buying a car, maintaining it, registering and comprehensively insuring it (especially since baka iba-iba yung gagamit so chances of fender benders will be more)? You'll definitely be spending around 25K to 30K yearly on this given it has no major issues; depreciation isn't even a factor yet.

The Adventure has a lot of parts but if you're going for the automatic version which runs on a gas engine, its engine parts may be harder to come by in Quezon. Also, if i were considering a gas engined Adventure, i may as well up the ante and spend for the 2.4L gas Space Gear as it should also cost in that same range. Try mo rin yung mga Crosswind na XTRM and XUV a/t. If you have a relative na pwede pagkatiwalaan to drive and maintain it, maybe you can consider renting it out sa place niyo as well so at least may income pa rin yung sasakyan pag wala kayo.

On a side note, i have a friend (former officemate) from Quezon (Tayabas if i recall correctly). Her folks were also both based in Saudi and they had a family van which they just decided to sell since nasayang lang sa pag display sa garahe. Ginagamit lang pag nandito sa Pilipinas yung magulang and my friend and her husband have their own cars in Manila anyway.

    * the Expedition, per my experience with those SUVs, pag hindi ginagamit masyado, mas nasisira. Dapat regularly used din.

Hehehe.

That's why you should think twice din. Masaya and masarap yung accomplishment na you and your wife can get a car for your use when you come home, you deserve it. Pero masakit din kung iba yung makikinabang tapos lahat ng gastos, sa yo pa rin; kung kids mo yung gagamit walang kaso yan definitely but as mentioned, bata pa rin sila. But hey, yung 13-YO mo will be able to drive by the time he/she is 16 (w/ licensed driver) so sandali nalang rin yan if you decide to wait a little more (and save up to even get that Innova).
