mga sir, we're planning to buy a pick-up next year and i am still confused since this would be our first brand new vehicle. meron kami before 2nd hand mitsubishi kotse and base from that masyadong matakaw sa gasolina. same din sa volkswagen beetle. bitin sa convenience kapag long distance travel.

anyways, im narrowing down my option to this three.

First choice ko is Ford Ranger Trekker. medyo nagaalangan ako kasi nga may mga feedbacks na awkward daw ang plastic interior nya and another this is that masikip daw ang passenger seat sa back. gaano ba talaga to ka-liit at masyado ba tong masikip? wala kasing casa dito sa amin at hiya din akong mangulit sa mga may-ari ng ford trekker dito sa amin na di ko kilala..hehehe base na lang po sa kotse na toyota vios (taxi) san po mas convenient upuan? (back seat lang po ha?) mas masikip ba ang ranger trekker compared to toyota vios? kung bakit napili ko to as my first choice kasi mas mura offer sa akin ng ford davao and mas mataas compared sa ibang pick-up.(anti-baha) sabi daw ford is built to tough.

second choice is mitsubishi strada. worries ko lang at baka etong model din na to is matakaw sa fuel at may nabasa akong issue dito at sa ibang forum na di pa gaanong na-perfect ng mitsubishi in terms sa diesel engines..nagkakaproblema daw..pansin ko kasi karamihan na binebenta na second hand are the mitsubishi strada (new model) mura din ang offer nito. i don't know yung availability nito.

last choice ko is the nissan navara. downside lang is mahal (medyo kapos sa budget), wider ang body at meron din comment na may deperensya daw to sa diesel engine nila..and fuel efficient ba to kasi medyo malakas umarangkada to and nissan are well known for their aircondition.

    Ranger
-medyo bumpy ang ride nito pero manageable naman, so kung galing ka sa kotse medyo maninibago ka dito sa pick-up na to.
+very reliable, kumbaga ito talaga yung sinasabing pick-up (i cant explain, pero you know what i mean )

    Strada
-medyo may pagkacheap ang upuan nito, is it just me?
+kung sa ranger medyo bumpy yung ride, opposite naman sila ng strada which is smooth ang ride para kang nakasedan at eto yung pick up na medyo naka 95 degree ang angle nung upuan unlike the other two which is upright ang position.

    navara
-ang baba ng ground clearance, for me napaka neto sakin. kasi kaya nga pick-up diba dapat mataas siya at yung puwedeng pang off-road.
+dito naman pag naka-sakay ka na pakiramdam mo you are in a higher class of pick-up.

kung gsto mo talaga eh yung comfy ride na meron ang sedan then it's the strada.

The Navara seems cheaper to maintain...

Kung maintenance lang pala ang problema then I think Strada is the best among its class assuming from what you've said.

Kung yun lang pala, magagawaan ng paraan yan, like sourcing out parts outside casa e.g. oil filter, air filter, coolants, oils and the likes. 80% of Mitsu casas usually permit their customers to bring their own.

Di naman sa bias pero according sa iyong statement sir TS, gusto mo ng comfortable ride and your best choice is strada. Siya yung may pinakaroomy among other pick ups and sedan like siya unlike the ranger na matagatag.

What trim level are you buying and for what purpose?

If all you want is absolute power and off-roading ability, get the Ranger 3.0. Awesome engine. Good ride height and great drivetrain. Amongst 4x2s, the Ranger 2.5 is also pretty good. Good power delivery, good transmission, decent handling

If you want an all-arounder, the Navara is good. Only second to the Strada (out of all the trucks in the class) in terms of comfort, but with a much, much bigger bed and a back seat that is similar in size. And the 2.5 liter in the 4x4 is pretty powerful. A bit lacking in low-rpm grunt compared to the 3.0s, but wickedly quick.

The Strada has the best rear seat comfort in the class, is the most refined and the most car-like. If you're getting a pick-up as a family car, it's a good choice.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

i think it's better if you visit those dealer above choices. you can compare it personally and make the decision. or you can test drive all those vehicle and compare their fuel consumption, better performance and toughest truck among them. (just kidding) if it's just for me, i'll go for strada!!!!

    Yan ang panalong advice!

Pag labas ng bagong Ranger magmumukang mga small time mga Japanese pick up trucks... They say its just slightly smaller than an American F-150 kaya nga di ilalabas sa US kasi baka tamaan market ng F-150...

Nissan Navara 4X4 for me.

For example oil filter, 2 to 300 ang difference.

In other words, classy. In other worlds, global platform.

Ya. Bigger is nicer. "Matipid" kaya? Gas consumption is a big factor in market acceptance among Filipinos.

Seriously... this is the 21st Century and people are still repeating this hoary old myth?

The only reason Fords are seen as "guzzlers" is because of the Expedition and E150... which are V8s.

The Focus 2.0 gasser AT is a guzzler. But guess what? So are the Civic 2.0 AT (I've seen 5-6) and the Corolla 2.0 AT. (averaged 6.5 km/l in the city)

The Focus 2.0 TDCi is as economical as various 1.6 and 1.5 liter diesels I've driven.

The Ranger, in our testing, is just as economical as any other similarly powered CRDi 2.5 or 3.0.

    -

The only vehicle in the comparison that is relatively frugal for the power is the 4x4 Navara... which gives you the power of a 3.0 (but again, not the flexibility) with the fuel economy of a 2.5.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Trekker, Strada or Navarra? Which is which?
