The Innova is more practical if you don't need the extra space. The TCi isn't quite as economical as the Innova (family and business have a few Innovas and a cousin had the TCi for a while), probably due to the weight.
But if you can swing the price, the TCi is much more comfortable. The ride is sort of stiff, like the Innova, but is more than bearable for long trips... and the interior room is worlds away from the smaller vehicle.
Both cars are a bit unrefined in the engine-drivetrain department... the Innova has the noisier engine, the Starex has the noisier drivetrain. The Innova's underchassis and body are cheaper to maintain, but the TCI's engine, being non-CRDI, will be cheaper to maintain in the long run than the Innova's D4D.
All about choices and compromise. Best is to look at both vehicles and decide which one suits your family more. ;)
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

August 18th, 2011 05:37 PM #6I'd suggest the Starex TCI. Simpler engine means maintenance costs less. Even though its got lesser power, it is at least electronically controlled so you can chip it. Adding some simple mods like an aftermarket air filter should do much to increase performance as well. This way you get a more balanced power to weight ratio meaning more fuel mileage as well as performance. I would not be suggesting the Innova as the ride is pretty choppy, it doesn't have much more space with all the seats up, and you only get to seat 7 people max in the V and 8 in the G. This is if you need the space. Otherwise, the Innova is a good harabas vehicle with durable components and a punchy and economical engine.

If hauling cargo is more important - Starex
If hauling people is more important - Innova G
