I have not seen the new Carens up close yet but it looks good. If i was spending over a million, i think this offers more compared to the Innova (better performance, efficiency and comfort). Perhaps, lamang lang si Innova sa space and ride height.

The TS is concerned about the space and fuel economy.

I guess the Innova is fit to those expectations.

Also, I have not seen the new Carens,- but the previous one is just too small a ride, IMO, for a P1M tag.

    space - innova
fuel economy - innova and carens

before torn between these two units kami pero kumuha kami ng innova medyo fit sa purpose namen (family business na pangkargahan konti at family vehicle)

An innova wins every comparo if we choose in terms of value, reliabilty and etc.
It is the default "mind over heart" choice

But the question is whether youre willing to spend a liitle more and get a carens
depends on how much you want it

thank you guys for all the replies i really appreciated .. na visit ko na yung both dealers ... I really liked the look the Carens , but yung third row ng carens sobrang maliit ... its small even for small children .
Innova malaki talaga .. i really don't like the look so much but it beats the carens on space anytime hands down .

on paper mas maganda talaga yun fc ng carens .. on actual i don-t really know but its a matter of 1 or 2 kms naman .

I think i'll go with the innova 25 years edition ... still looks like an innova but better looking ...

The Innova would be a safer choice, the Carens is more refined and has a lot of features similar to euro standards it would have better fuel consumption for city driving having a smaller engine displacement but a sore loser for highway driving especially if you have 7 passengers. The Carens is a unibody car, so the comfort and driving pleasure will be there, compared to the Innova with wide body but bigger chassis. But if space is a concern then the Toyota is a sure winner.

You might want to consider an Isuzu Crosswind for versatility or a Peugeot 5008 for class.

I beg to disagree on the highlighted part. The carens is lighter, has more horsepower (134hp vs 102hp of the innova) and has loads more of torque (330nm vs 200nm Innova). Both the new 1.7 and older 2.0 Carens CRDI can go beyond 200km/h. I have yet to see an Innova going beyond 180km/h.

To the recent forumer who also has the same dilemma, yes the Innova is still the safer choice. I would peg the carens as a "want" and not like an Innova which falls into the "need" category.

    .
Who will want to drive at 200 km/h with their family on board
will you risk the safety of your family just for "your feeling racer heart"?
I agree the carens is more refined and powerful
but the Innova gets my vote why?
    Because it's bigger,more spacious,spare parts
ground clearance ( kung ang innova sumasayad na sa mga uneven roads sa Province what
    if kaya yung Carens)
If your consideing other choices check out the Isuzu Crosswind if your gonna
use it for provincial and highway driving
kahit saan mo idaan wag lang sa shallow sand or palayan kaya niya
    and is more fuel efficient
it won't reach 160km/h in a speed of lightning
but I'm sure you will reach your destination safely
    sorry for the long post

I 2nd this. When I was in the market for a new car, I considered the Innova. But on 2nd thought, it did not have that ooomph that I want in a car. Yun bang "smile factor" na I will be proud of the car & will be the first thing I look at in the morning & last I look at before I sleep. The Carens has that.

Eto yung interior. Pagkakaiba lang ng 25yrs rims and tyres (17 in, bridgestone 215/55/r17 re002), navigation system, and 25 yrs badge hehehe pero sulit na rin naman, sa V model same as G din sya pero naka captain's seat and second row.
