October 17th, 2019 05:35 PM #1Hi

I can only comment on the Gen. 3 RAV4 which I had for almost 14 years.
1. Fuel consumption 7 to 9 kilometers per liter, mixed city and highway driving.
2. Fairly reliable as long as well maintained.
3. Suspension parts, aircon cleaning, gasket leaks, normal after 14 years of usage. No major issues for me.
Hope this helps you compare with same year CRV.
Good luck in your choice!

rav4 will last longer with the newer engine. dual injection technology will prevent any carbon buildup on the intake valves. aisin fwd 8sp is good with the lastest tuning.

Naalala ko pala, if you get the Rav4 ( any generation), palinis mo kaagad yung throttle body.

It is repairable. But as oj88 mentioned, it is messy (when repaired) and best used as a last resort.
