If between the 2, i'll chose the Isuzu. The Nissan is very bare but engine is very good for highway driving because of the gearing. But Isuzu offers very low-end torque which I like for a pick-up.And it looks pretty too.

We own a DMax 4x2 LS AT. So far ang complain ko lang is the expensive maintenance ng Isuzu. But comfort-wise, it's great! Even the rear seats are spacious, well actually, 2 years ago, this was the most spacious pickup out there. It's very comfortable too. I use this too for long drives, and nakakatulog ng mahimbing mga passengers ko.
Haven't checked the recent competition because I am very happy with the DMax. The plastics lang has a cheap feel, but not necessarily cheap, it doesn't feel as solid as let's say my Honda CRV. It was already pretty high-tech that time, because at it's price point, it's the only one that offers power seats.
If ever I am still in the market today for a pickup, the DMax will still be on top of my list. The only other pickup that is catching my attention is the Strada.
Hi TS, mind if I add more to the comparison? I'm also shopping for a pickup. Actually, ok na ako sa Juke but my father requested that I should go with the pickup since it would be a big help sa farm.
It is a stretch for me also to have it at 1.2M kya 4x2 AT din habol ko. I made comparison for that range and so far eto ang pros cons ko. Again this is just my opinion and what I read:
Looks and pogi points - Ford Ranger XLT. Also the overall dimensions ad payload. Cons: parts and after sales service. Not too loaded features like DMax 2017. Just want to know if the 2.2 is not under powered and dependent too much on the turbo? Else, the turbo will be a bitch and expensive to replace.
Price - Navara Calibre EL. This is the best price and not to mention the 7speed AT, comfy ride and great engine power. cons: bear interior tho good materials. Also the suspension will add more to the maintenance cost vs the traditional leaf spring.
Features and Options - the 2017 DMax. Reliable engine tho not the most powerful even if it's 3.0.
Cons: only the 5 speed AT on its class.and the biggest turnoff, its still effing Euro 2 engine! Masyado naman ata pinipiga ng Isuzu ang compliance. Why not just Bing the 1.9 blue ba yun na engine?!
Engine and power: 2017 Chevy Colorado. Its also tied for the looks and pogi points. Cons: like Ford, dreaded after sales and poor service. Expensive and yet bare features and amenities. Wala din discount kse bago.
Parts and after sales: Toyota Hilux G 2.4 AT clean look and stance also. cons: the most expensive and least features i think
So there you. So what do you think should you recommend?

Buy the Nissan Juke that you're eyeing and then buy an old beater for farm use ...
Ok din sana kaso hirap din mag hanap ng good condition. Also the price minsan is good enuf for a bnew DP. Actually my father have the fortuner which we can swap if needed yun pickup.
Kung ako lang personal use, Jimny lang ok na sa akin :-)

D-Max reliability is severely underrated. It's Toyota reliability minus the Toyota tax. Since its launch, I haven't read or heard any major problems here or abroad. It's the best-selling truck in pick-up crazy Thailand.
Hilux on the other hand has had issues aforementioned. Reliability still solid but it's severely overpriced for what it's worth. No projectors, drl, reverse sensors, camera, list goes on. At least it has a laggy touchscreen from avt, something the Navara doesn't have lol.
The Strada is value but wouldn't want to keep changing the timing belt every 80k. If the 4x2 had the mivec, would be at the top of my list.
Having said that, the Navara still feels the most balanced for hauling and family use. Just add-on the stuff lacking with the savings. Reliability is okay, just watch out for the alternator if this still has the same as the d40's.
Personally, the Hilux's modern interior design and better materials are more appealing than the Dmax's toys. It's not on the spec sheets, but the Hilux really feels more premium than the Dmax.
Also, the 70k difference is somewhat justified because the Hilux's engine is quieter and much more refined than the Dmax's clattery 3.0.
If the Hilux G is too pricey, the Hilux E is a great alternative at 1.030M. It's very bare in stock form, but if you add 20" rims, a rear bumper, and step boards, you still won't reach 1.1M so it'll still be cheaper than any other pickup. It still has the same 2.4 engine, Bluetooth, steering wheel audio controls, ABS, and so on. I even like its Kenwood HU better than the AVT HU on the G.

Ok my only gripe about the 2017 Dmax is its still euro 2 engine.
Is this a big deal?

Euro 2 vs Euro 4 isn't a deal breaker. Get the Dmax if it's what you like more.😊
