What to do? Engine problem, will it be better to buy a surplus engine or overhaul it. The engine is from a civic lxi 96, d15b non vtec.
Saan ba maganda ang makina surplus?

October 11th, 2007 07:10 AM #2for me, engine replacement kasi mas makakamura ka kung replacement ang gagawin mo.yung working days eh mas maiksi kesa overhaul. kung bibili ka ng surplus eh magdala ka ng iyong mekaniko para ma check kung ok yung makina o hindi. yung makina na aalisin mo eh wag mo iiwan sa talyer. dalhin mo sa inyo at pede mo pang pangahuyan yun. kung overhaul eh mas matagal. kung me tama ang block malamang dadalhin pa sa machine shop. tapos depende na syo kung original o hindi ang pyesa na gagamitin mo. kung orig eh mas mahal. depende din sa mekaniko kung okey ang pagbubuo nya ng makina. at sa huli nasa syo pa din yan kung overhaul o replacement.

October 11th, 2007 08:02 AM #3have your engine thoroughly checked by a good mechanic. it might benefit from replacement parts or tuning lng kng yng major parts are sound pa naman. pro pag may tama na talaga, lalo na yng block, better replace it na lng kse mas makakatipid ka. try mo sa banawe, caloocan o kaya evangelista...

One thing to remember when you buying a surplus engine is to know the history of that engine. The exact odometer reading when they pulled out.
Also, before installing that engine to your car it is a lot wiser to change all the the major gasket, hose, cleaned all the vacuum oropice anything suspicious or perhaps TOP OVERHAUL rather than later cause it is alot easier to do it now when that engine still in the table. Do not assumed that engine is EXCELLENT...do it the first time.
