Old School or Brand New Auto?

Just wanna ask which is more advisable and practical, to have a brand new auto or to restore an old school vintage car? Please advise, will appreciate your feedbacks.

Question is how vintage is vintage? If most parts are available locally, pwede siguro (like japanese cars). A brand new car would be more practical. Pero syempre, a vintage would be a headturner. Imagine sa traffic, kasabayan mo puro bagong modelo, tapos sa yo vintage. Malamang, all eyes on you! I used to own a vintage car kaya alam ko feeling.

Kung practicality, siyempre brand new. Initial cost may be a bit higher, but maintenance and repair will be low, plus the added reliability will save you time. But if you had to ask, maybe that's not the ONLY consideration?

it will all depend...
for everyday drive, i would prefer something brand new. iba ang comfort ng bago.

pero if i have ekstra (sorry, sira keyboard ko eh...) moolah.. i would be restoring a vw karmann ghia... this will be my weekend/toy car.

For comfort and practicality wise, syempre sa brand new. If you are planning to go for old ones..then upgrades and mods, siguro hobby na yun.

oldschool car kung hobby at gusto mo matuto/hands-on training vehicle ang hanap mo, meaning may daily ride ka na.. or kulang budget mo, but willing ka matuto sa larangan ng sasakyan, eto ang para sa yo..at once you bought your old-school car, kahit anu pang itsura nyan, expect mong may papagawa ka.kung nga ang b-new ay may lemon/factory defects, maslalo na ang mga to...

bnew- kung ang sasakyan sayo is just a tool to get you from point a-b and after 3-5 years of its ownership you sell it to get a new one para makaiwas ka sa major repairs..or just want to show na you can afford a new car, then this is for you...aalahanin monalang is maintenance(kung cash) or both maintenance and mortgage...

If I were you, buy a brand new car first for work use, then save money so you can buy your vintage car as a hobby.

Car restoration, well kikita ka naman if you can get gigs sa mga car show. Pero look at it this way, madami ka pa asikasuhin if magrestore -- look for the car you want to restore, talk to guys na magrerestore for prices tapos after pumili discuss nyo ung gagawin. Ang bnew, babayad ka na lang and wait mo ma-release.

For me buy brand new, dahil hindi sasakit ang ulo mo, sa vintage car restoration eh madalas masira kahit anung gawin mo, may masisira at masisira pa din yan, my dad likes to restore vintage car, perfect na ung car nagagamit na pero after ilan weeks may masisira na part etc,etc hindi mo na maperfect ang restoration, pwera na lang palitan lahat ng wear and tear parts ayun. so ang gastos is pareho sa brand new na, sa fuel consumption pa lang eh mas ok na ang brand new

restoring an old school car back to tip-top condition (like brandnew) will cost almost about the same as buying a brandnew (not even secondhand) na oto.

a secondhand will not necessarily be cheap (unless you got a good condition one)... depending on the state/condition of the secondhand car.

as such if its for a daily drive then go for a 2nd hand.

if for pleasure and convenience then go for a brandnew.

if it is your passion to restore an oldschool...go for the restoration.

I have a 24 year old car back in the US and I drive it daily. Not a single problem, just basic maintenance and "upgrades".

On the other hand, our 2004 Jazz recently had driver window problems and was called in for a recall from Honda Fairview, but we haven't had the time to take it in yet. Its battery also got discharged once when my dad was visiting us in the US. Now that I'm in Manila for a while I'll be driving the Jazz, it's a very good daily driver but I miss my MB's.

Nothing beats the character and "soul" of old school cars, if that's what you're after.

If you have to ask, get a new(er) car. Restoring a car takes a great deal of passion and commitment and is not something you should do if you have to debate it in your mind.

if you don't want to spend more it must be the new auto kasi if you buy the old school you will spend more kailangan na lagi ng maintenance lalo na sa engine.

Kung practicality din lang, I'd go for brand-new.

I don't think I'd go into restoration; I admit wala akong tiyaga sa ganyan eh. I'd probably let someone else worry about putting it back together. If I would really want a vintage car, and I had the money for it, baka bumili na lang ako ng fully restored.

brand new. safe, comfortable, and no headaches. if you want a daily-drive, nothing fancy, then go for a brand new car.

vintage will cost you a lot, especially if you don't much about cars and you're going to have it restored by a third party. if you'll treat it as a hobby, then you can work on it and just order the parts.

i know some people who has spent more than a brand new car to just put a car "back in to condition".

parang hindi match yong 'practical' tapos vintage car, only in rare cases do they come hand in hand, if ever they do. so, get a brand new one na sobrang tipid sa gas...

parang house and lot yan, hindi ka makakakita ng maganda, malaki, nasa exclusive subdivision, at the same time murang-mura.
