Nissan Livina or Kia Carens

But for me, KIA still has a lot of things to prove. (Service and Quality)

So if i where to buy between the two

I go for the Nissan

A product or a brand should start somewhere, right??? i remember in the 80's if you say nissan, dami nagsasabi pangit quality kesyo ganito and ganyan, mahal i-maintain and spareparts are hard to get, but now if you say nissan, dami nagsasabi na ok yung car na yan...etc....

I must admit, I like the looks of the Kia Carens more, but what makes the Livina competitive is the price and the ABS/airbags. Hayup naman kasi itong Columbian, garapal magtaas ng presyo!

+1 ako dito sa sinabi ni stormgray sa itaas . If the COLUMBIAN CARTEL didnt increase the price and also wala silang binawas sa mga accessories sa loob, i think carens is a bang for the buck....but now...medyo hard to reach na...

kelan pa mas mahal ang kia against nissan? Sa parts palang.

With regards to its durability wala akon masabi sa carens. After typhoon frank, ang mga matitibay na cars companies na sinasabi nyo....ang daming complains. 80k lang gastos ni sir zuperk..pambili palang yan ng computer box kulang pa, buti yong akin di nasira kahit nalubog ang tubig. Some of my friends swear they would never buy a honda again, di matibay sa baha.

So far its been 6 month since the great flood. I can honestly say that my carens is a well built car or van.

to put it straight... carens is the better car. would I recommend it? yes, i would but with some reservation, the reason being... it's now way way overpriced.

our carens is more than a year and it runs the same if not better than when we first got it. i dare say it's the best of it's class right now. Has the right mix of comfort, power, features. It is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a mini van, apv, or an alternative to a big car, or simply a family car. I once doubt the quality of Korean cars and question it's reliability. But Hyundai/Kia has gone a long way. Look around you, there are a lot of 2-3 year old getz, tucson, sta fe, carens, picanto on the streets. There are only a few of this cars for sale in the used cars section, so this is a proof of a huge improvement in hyundai/kia's reliability, our carens has been proving with each passing day

But that "easy" recommendation now has some reservation because of the price. Columbia has successfully scare a lot of potential buyer because of the huge price increase. I know of at least 2 people who has plan of buying the carens but is now looking at buying something else.

summary: the carens is a nice car but is expensive. the livina is not a bad car, the carens is the better car but the livina is cheaper.

note: dito lang sa atin sobra ang price increase ng carens/rondo. surf around kia websites around the world, visit some forums. you will see that the price of carens between now and 10 months ago differs greatly only here in Pinas. yung pagtanggal ng mga features it's all over the world but the huge price increase... only in Pinas.

Columbia... nice job of scaring potential buyers! (sorry for the OT). Here is a wish that Columbia will wake up and not be so greedy.

+1 , WAKE UP COLUMBIA, MAKE THE CARENS AFFORDABLE !!!! If your toO proud rollback your prices, at least add more features to our beloved Carens.

To get back into the topic. Here is the summary:

- Kia Carens is the better car but is at least 80K overpriced.
- Nissan Livina has better interior features but loses to the carens in terms of engine power and performance.

If I were to choose now and money is not a factor. I'll choose the carens. But as I said, I believe the carens is 80K overpriced. So bringing in the "money factor" I'll choose the livina.

If for some reason the carens' price goes down at least 80K the recommendation is the carens, automatically. imho

big discounts naman ang Kia accdg. dun sa nakausap ko

for example, a picanto A/T srp is 635k, puwede daw 40k discount
a sportage A/T crdi 4x2 srp is 1.185M, puwede daw 150K+ discount



hindi ko lang natanong yun carens. this i inquired dun sa kia dealer sa tiendesitas

hindi pa ako nangulit nyan kasi napadaan lang naman ako para icheckout Pagcor games sa taas hehehe

so the srp is just to discourage discounts, kasi hilig daw mag-haggle ng pinoy eh hehehe

btw, yun mga figures na binigay niya ng discount tingin ko puwede ba sagadin, basang-basa ko kasi sa salesman na hirap sila magbenta ngaun eh. even Toyota in the US is having a hard time disposing their new inventories accdg. to US news.
