Incidentally while walking around the village a few weeks ago may Mirage na nakatabi sa kalsada and they were replacing the clutch cable. Yung CVT Mirage ng in-laws ko na no maintenance whatsoever still runs fine.
I'd go with the new Almera in this case. The old one was bleh.

December 7th, 2021 02:09 PM #16i did.
my ford escort mexico 4 door had a clutch cable. malambot ang clutch pedal when the cable is new. tumitigas siya as the cable ages.
the air-cooled VWs had clutch cable. but i was able to bring one home, even as the cable broke. for some reason, i was able to slide it in and out of gear, for the short distance home.
clutch cables are easier to replace than hydraulic clutch mechanisms.

IMO. biggest difference ng cable type sa fluid type is pag naputol yung cable... wala na. yung fluid, unti unti mong mararamdaman na pumapalpak na

December 7th, 2021 11:54 PM #20I have a CVT Mirage so it's not from personal experience. However, I used to frequent forums and FB groups ng Mirage and not a week went by na wala akong nababasang post asking for help sa pagpapalit ng clutch cable. It may be the cable's quality or perhaps clutch drivers lang yung mga nasisiraan.
As for the Mirage in general... let's just say I have a slight case of buyer's remorse kaya hindi ko nire-recommend.
